NY will confiscate your handgun if it passes through their airports w/o a permit...a short stay is sadly not considered traveling if I remember correctly

Is there really an issue with people being "extra" safe? Being in the engineering side of the Navy I have a tenancy to follow rules "as the word of God" when it comes to anything that has a potential to harm myself or others.
Ragnar-I think the issue is not whether they were too young, or completely unsafe, but that the range was not the proper place to be practicing "tactical" shooting. I agree younger shooters have a slight bias towards them, but I have found that by adhering to safety rules and range etiquette...
Love mine as a cheap alternative when I feel like blasting away...also use it as a way to get all the tacti-cool out of my system without breaking the bank
Due to the apparently heated debate and to avoid another page of argument, i vote that we all refer to the aforementioned "clips" and "magazines" as the non-threatening "portable ammunition holding devices"....;)
Since the thread is re-opened, my Hi-point 9mm carbine gets quite a bit of negative attention..despite it being more than reliable...

Maybe not what your looking for, but how about a pair of regular muffs and a set of earbuds for the ipod. Works great for me when I feel like listening to music.
