    200m Indoor Range?

There's a 100-yd range under Cabela's in Grapevine, TX. Uses (IIRC) three tubes out under the parking lot.

    Deactivating Rimfire Primers

As I posted previously, I picked out 10 rounds each of .22LR Winchester Wildcat (CCI Headstamp), an unusual headstamp from ammo I've had for years on my pistol belt, Super-X, and CCI Mini-Mags, and pulled the bullets. I put 1 each of the empty cases in small containers of Acetone (nail polish...

    Deactivating Rimfire Primers

Just completed converting a box of .22 WMRs to dummys. I pulled the bullets using a 1/4" roofing screw washer with rubber backing to hold the cartridges in my inertia puller. Then I held the cases in padded needle-nosed pliers over a propane flame on my grill's warmer burner until the primer...

    Deactivating Rimfire Primers

Great idea! To the best of my knowledge, dummy rounds always have a hole drilled in the side so they're instantly identifiable as dummys. Since not all sides of the cartridges will be visible from the front of the display (e.g., some will be in a cartridge belt), that shouldn't matter. For...

    Deactivating Rimfire Primers

Wow! Great ideas, with quite a bit of diversity on what if anything will deactivate a primer. Never thought about heat. Reminds me of the scene in RED where Bruce Willis drops a handful of 9mm cartridges into a frying pan to create a diversion!. Anyway, got me to thinking: Why not test and...

    Deactivating Rimfire Primers

I've been asked to create some authentic-looking dummy .22 WMR rounds for a museum display. I plan to CAREFULLY drill a hole in the side of the cartridges using a wooden jig in a vice behind some armor glass, then dump out the powder. The museum isn't comfortable with leaving the primers live...

    Personal Defense 9mm Ammo

I carry Federal 124-gr HSTs or Winchester 147-gr Ranger-Ts from an over-run foreign contract. Both function and expand superbly in my Hellcat.

    GunBroker website?

I've bought perhaps 20 guns through Gunbroker, with only two problems; both mistakes by the seller. The first one was a beautiful Charles Daley O/U skeet gun. The gun I received was not quite as pretty as the one I ordered, which I thought might be due to the lighting on the photos, until I...

25 yards is too far away for legal defense nonsense.

FWIW, The first seven rounds on the Arizona LEOSA qualification are fired from 25 yards. If your assailant has a firearm, distance is irrelevant. An edged or blunt-force weapon would not pose an imminent threat at 25 yards, but would at a third that distance if the perpetrator was charging you...
