@MR Borland: thanks a lot!
"If you're describing a situation where the hammer stays cocked after you release a partially-pulled DA trigger"
Yes this is the situation I'm trying to describe.
It doesn't seem to happen anymore with the main spring fully loaded. I will buy some snap caps and dry...
I think I've solved it, the main spring adjustment screw was nearly all the way out. This morning I had some light strikes while shooting so I checked the spring tension. I just turned it back in to nearly maximum tension and I don't seem to be able to work the trigger, freezing the hammer in SA...
Today I've brought my newly acquired S&W 15-3 to the range. The gun is pleasant to shoot and accurate as expected.
While I was testing the DA pull I've realized that if I pull the trigger very slowly in DA I can set the hammer all the way up in SA and freeze it in that position. It's like if...
This was my xmas present to myself. I've spotted this one on the website of the gunshop I've bought most of my revolvers from.
S&W 15-3 with 2,5" barrel with its original box, wax paper and tools. Asked price was 400 but I offered 350 and off she went.
Buy it and enjoy it! If I would have a chance to find one at such a price I would go for it. forget about the EU useless oplophobic bureaucrats whose only purpose in life is making our lives miserable........
Great post, thank you!
I have the Supica & Nahas standard catalogue 2nd edition, I will look around for the Shop Manual.
I've discovered THR when I've been bitten by the revolver bug, I've never found such a wealth on information (not to mention the nice environment) on any other forum.
"could it be an airgun of some sort?"
Yes - that's what the hole in the grip butt is for - you blow it up like a balloon.
:D c'mon, I've seen the safety catch and thought it could be one of those CO2 air gun with the CO2 cartridge in the grip.................
@460Kodiak yep, beretta 357 mag prototype that never entered production, probably the best revolver never produced as beretta was too busy with their 92's.
