    Which Blackhawk is your favorite?

I get shortness of breadth when I see some of these single-action threads with pictures. I'm going to have to start shopping . . .

    CC'inng While Hiking

I've been thinking about carrying a SAA clone in a drop down cowboy rig. It seems this would be my best option for hiking. I've had lots of trouble with the horizontal hip supports of my backpack overlapping with a traditional gun belt. I'm thinking that for concealed carry there has to be...

    .44 Magnum vs .45 ACP/AR

Yes, quite a bit of a difference. Bullet weight is important too. You can shoot .44 Special out of a magnum. I'd say the recoil feels 4 times as intense.

need help with new gun buy???

If you plan on carrying in a pocket I'd go with the LCR. If you plan on carrying on the belt, consider the 101. I personally would purchase a 101, and plan to very soon. I think a light .357 mag in an SP101 would be kind of fun to shoot. But, would probably carry as powerful a .38 as...

    S&W Alloy Frames??....

I love the air weight revolvers. You should try and shoot one, first, before jumping to conclusions. Any lighter, like scandium, is too light for me.

One more thought about DA/SA speed..

As long as the hammer is cocked by the time you get on target, I'm not sure it matters much. DavidE's single action speed was very fast.

    SA Revolvers for CCW

I don't recall the OP asking for opinions on the matter. He simply said he had made his choice. He weighed in on his view, that's all. He has decided to carry a single action. He said that he shoots it well and it goes bang every time. It's done already. Chill out.

    Skilled with Various Platforms?

I would prefer to settle on one gun, or type, and stick with it, as the best for me. I seem to be too fickle about it. Whether it was years of military training or starting out with a revolver, but generally, I find the idea of trying to learn to shoot with different platforms a little silly...

    New P938 owner with questions

The 938 pre-stages rounds in the magazine. The second, third etc. feed easy. The first one might be harder to chamber. I find the 938 loads much easier than other small autos, except for the stiff mag spring. Load the first round and pull out the mag. You'll see what I mean by pre-staged.

    S&W Bodygurad 38 in J Frame holster

Two wrenches are included. One to adjust the laser and one to remove the battery. I'll have to check to see if one will take the side plate off. I like the gun but a standard J frame would have been more fun for mods/holsters, etc.

    being under capacitied

Revolvers are more reliable, autos hold more ammo (and I think can be easier to shoot). Ultimately though you have to make a decision that always places you in one camp or the other. I sometimes carry one of each.

Would you rather have 15 round of 9mm, or 8 rounds of 45 in your carry gun

Given how generic the question is, I'd take the .45 ACP. If the auto I have is 100% reliable with hollow points I'd be fine with 9mm. But, I have trust issues. Seriously. Prefer a revolver, then, a .45, then, a 9 mm with hollow points. I'm sure I'd be fine with any option. It's the...

Colt Working to Bring New DA Revolver(s) to Market

Can someone enlighten me? The only Colt revolver I would consider is a Python. Why is it the one gun they wouldn't re-introduce?

    Barrel length and muzzle flip

I've used several .357 magnums in various barrel lengths. My impression has always been "same amount of recoil, just different directional impulse". I prefer shorter barrels. It would be great to know I was wrong about my dislike of longer barreled guns. I'd have to rethink getting rid of...
