    OAL Gauges-bullet comparators?

I use the Hornady OAL gauge, and Bullet comparators. I will usually use these tools to find my OAL to the lands, and record it. Then I will seat .020" deeper to work my up my load. Once I find my load, then I start adjusting my seating depth .005" at a time until I find where my rifle likes it...

    300RUM Long Range Reloading

I load 300RUM with H1000 under a 200gr Accubond. IMR7828, and Retumbo worked well, but H1000 seemed to be my best powder in major temp swings. The 300RUM works well with 180-210gr Bullets, but really shines with the 200gr pills. My load for my Rem700 300RUM is 92.0gr of H1000 under 200gr...

    Chargemaster accuracy/reliability?

I have a CM with a 2nd one on the way. I did the straw trick, and reprogram to speed things up. It's accurate to with in .1gr for sure. Usually if it under/over charges, I will dump it back in, and start over. I will verify with my beam scale every 10 rounds. I consistently get SD of 8-9 on my...

9mm plated 124 gr. with TiteGroup

W231/HP-38 should work well. I have a few friends that load 124gr 9mm with W231. My favorite 9mm load using 124gr Xtreme, or RMR plated bullets is 3.8gr of Titegroup under 124gr plated bullet seated to 1.160". This is a very accurate load out of my Glock 34 with velocities around 1,048-1,050fps...

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

Ha! I try to keep it clean. It gets cluttered from time to time.

Show us a picture of your reloading bench

It's been a few years since I last posted pics of my man cave/shop. Sadly I still haven't finished my cabinets. That's my goal after Christmas. %5BURL=http://s1060.photobucket.com/user/gahunter12/media/Mobile Uploads/A0BFDBF9-EDB0-4EB6-8AFF-AA2213967ABA.jpg.html][/URL]...

    Stumped!

Yea they seem fine. Just caught me by suprise a little. Didn't understand why they wouldn't bump back like the rest. I think I will aneal them since I shot them, and resize again. Heck I may have a hand full of loaded rounds the same way. I'm not going through 8k rounds! LOL!

    Stumped!

They were all checked with a Wilson case gauge, and double checked with a Hornady head space gauge, and compared with the others.

    Stumped!

Yes. They are all Federal FC with the crimp pockets. I clean up the local sheriff range, and they practice with Federal. All cases came from their M4's.

    Stumped!

Yes they did. They never changed. I loaded them, and shot them today without issue. I know they will fit my chamber since they are bumped .003". Just odd I have .002" difference between those five, and the other 995 cases I resized. Like I said, this could have been happening all along. I have...

    Stumped!

Ok fellas I have been stumped. I may have had this issue, but not realize it till now. Any way I am bumping my shoulders back .005" on my .223 loads. While doing a spot check I ran across a case that was only bumped .003". Being caught off guard I checked all 1k cases, and had 5 that only bumped...

    Note on Primers

I have never had an issue with CCI, or Federal going bang. I have loaded well over 140,000 rounds since I started reloading in 2007. The ONLY failure of any type was on Federal LMRP. I had 2 blow pin holes on back to back 7mm RM rounds @ minimum charge. I sent them back to Federal, and they...

    40 sw powder choice

My favorite light .40s&w powder is Titegroup. Second is WST.

    Hi-Tek coated bullet 45LC and 9mm

i use Bayou Bullets exclusively for my 9mm, and 45acp loads. No leading, low/no smoke, very accurate. Also check out Black Bullets International. They are a few $$ cheaper than Bayou when you figure in shipping. I have considered switching to BBI, but Donnie at Bayou Bullet is a super nice guy...

    Starting Local Reloading Supply

That's a great idea! I have been thinking about doing the same. I have a few stores that sell powder/primers, but not a huge selection of bullets, and equipment. I would love to setup a reliading store out in my reloading shop, and offer a reloading class. I have held a dozen or so classes for...

How often should Dillon 550 be greased?

I clean my RL550b, and XL650's about every 2,000 rounds. Unless I start having issues sooner. Every time I clean them, I hit the grease fittings with a squirt of grease. This may be over kill, but I have only replaced 1 part on my XL650 (my fault I broke it while cleaning), and never had a broke...

    Frustrated with 223 case prep

^^^ This. I usually spend my winter/hunting season prepping .223/.556 brass for the next year. I am not bench shooting. I sort by head stamp, resize, trim, etc all brass, and pack away for loading later. I have my Trim It chucked in my drill press, and set to 1.750". I run brass through the...

    Buying Unsorted Bulk Brass

Right. I had my father n law pick it up with a flat bed, and bring it to my house. I was a little worried about putting it in the bed of my truck. There was some 22 in mine. I have sold off some 9mm, .40, and 45acp, but I still have 6-7 5gal buckets of 9mm, and four 5gal buckets of .223 left.

    Buying Unsorted Bulk Brass

It's all up to you. I purchased a 55gal drum of brass from a new local indoor range back in 2012 for .80/1lb. It didn't have any steel cases, but did have about 4-5% aluminum. I pulled out all the 9mm, .40s&w, 38spl, and .223. The rest was sold off, which recovered some of the money I had tied...
