I say this every time the subject comes up. If you're so concerned about who's on the other side of that door that you have to go to the door with a gun in your hand why are you opening the door at all?
I want to say this the right way. If I'm unsure of the condition of the weapon I clear it but if I cleared my carry gun, which is supposed to be loaded, every time I pick it up I'm going to be jacking rounds out of the chamber every time I touch it.
That's hard on the ammunition AND it's...
Thanks for validating my opinion of you.
I have never attended a class in which the instructor even mentioned press checks. Let alone suggested that we do them.
Again, I see it as nothing more than needless administrative handling, similar to those stupid scenes in movies when the cop drops...
I remember there was a discussion here a long time ago about who has the oldest firearm on THR.
One guy said that he had a working Fusil that was made in the mid 1400s.
I suspect there are quite a few more than 400 million guns in this country
I don't see the point. Unless I'm doing maintenance my carry guns are loaded. There's nobody in my home but my wife and myself and I just don't see her sneaking into the safe and unloading my guns.
Now the guns that I have in my safe that aren't carry guns and aren't stored loaded get chamber...
I agree to five shots if it's not a requirement in the class skip the press check. It's nothing more than unnecessary administrative handling and unnecessary administrative handling is the number one cause of negligent discharges
First, let me apologize in advance if this is the post that gets this thread locked. That's not my intent.
IMO the biggest mistake that we make as Americans is thinking that our political leaders are stupid.
I don't know the exact numbers but I would be willing to bet that that 80% or better...
The RAMI is an off shoot of the CZ40B which was a collaborative effort between Colt and CZ. It never really got off the ground and I'm not sure why because people that own the 40B really like it.
ETA IMO this gun fills essentially the same space as a CZ75B in .40 S&W. I would own one or the...
I actually don't know where the idea came from but when my permit arrived in the mail I decided that I was going to carry whenever I left my home.
Another change was that the more training and experience I got the less inclined I became to open carry.
There was a woman who was attacked in Palmer Park which is a large part in the center of Colorado Springs about a year ago. The original news stories said she was jogging with her earbuds in and the guy ran up from behind her and knocked her down.
Apparently there were witnesses that came...
I like the threads where are the original poster explicitly states that he's looking for a revolver and not five answers in somebody's telling him to get a Glock or a shotgun.
To be fair Mas is an active member of a private forum that I'm a member of and he does change guns frequently but every time he talks about it on that forum he also mentions the reason why he's changing guns and it's never because of random whim.
It's usually because he's going to a state...
I said this in another discussion
No they won't. They've already won the culture war. Once we're all old and dead they'll ask our grandkids (who have been indoctrinated by their anti RKBA teachers that guns are evil since kindergarten) to turn them all in and they will.
And it's true. They're...
