I read that Krebs no longer converts Veprs .308 to accept standard M1a mags. Do ou guys know which reputable gunsmith out there does this type of conversion and what I can expect it to cost. I think that this would make for an awsome .308 if one could convert it for a reasonable price to accept...
A few years ago I spent a ton of money on an LWRC gas piston PSD ("personal security detail") SBR in 5.56 caliber. I made the purchase after watching the Future Weapons episode on LWRCs gas piston SBRs. It was purely an impulse purchase (and a very expensive one at that) In retrospect the...

Ok. Let's rephrase the question then, if you were held up in your house by a rioting mob of about 100 lunatics trying to get to our family and you had 1000 round is ammo in the relevant caliber and no time to clean the rifle etc. Which would you rather have - the k-var AK 47 with 1000 rounds of...
i thought that k-var is essentially a saiga conversion plus some additional US made furniture. am i wrong? hos a k-var a ny different than the saiga conversion sold by J g? what is it about it that warrants a 300 dollar premium?
The converted Saiga i mentioned is found on this link, I am just wondering whether the quality is on par with what k-cvar sells.

J & G has this Saiga 7.62X39 Converted AK Style Rifle, Mercury-Hermes Import, New. 1-1614xq for something like 520, how would you compare it to a k-var? is the k-var worth the premium and if so, why?
thanks in advance for your input. i do appreciate it.
I am looking to buy a present for a good friend, but cant make up my mind. I am considering an AK 47 from Kvar or a PTR 91 GI from Atlantic firearms/cdnn. the price ranges are about equal. the friend likes to target practice and likes the idea of an all around defenseive weapon. which would...
I am looking to add a SHTF rifle/carbine to my collection and am considering the following 3 rifles/carbines: Ruger mini 14 (223/5.56 cal), ruger mini 30 (7.62X39 cal) or a PTR 91 GI in (nato 7.62 cal). The Rugers look like neet little carbines (i really like the compcatness of the carbine...
