    Brownells 20 Round Mags

One good thing about 20 rounders is you can carry 10 in a cloth bandolier with the strap around your neck. Two bandoliers is 400 rounds, which was our basic load in the 1st Inf Div in Vietnam. Lots of firepower.

    shells stuck in magazine tube

I have a Model 12 Winchester that had the same problem. It had a dent in the tube about where the second shell would go. Someone had dropped it on a hard object I guess. I tried driving a mandrel through it, but that never worked out. I just bought a used magazine tube.

    2nd Amendment and PTSD?

2nd Amendment and PTSD I did two combat tours in Vietnam, and there is no way I would ask for help from the VA for PTSD even if I suffered from it. I do not trust the VA or my government honoring my 2nd Amendment rights in todays political climate. Thank God for the NRA.

More on the history of Quick Kill

When I DEROs's back to the states from 1st Inf Div in Vietnam in June 1968, I was assigned to the Rifle Subcommittee at Ft. Benning as a Staff Sgt. instructor. Lt. I guess I'm the newest member of the 642 Club if I am permitted to join. I bought one for my wife to carry when she goes to the farm to work in her flowers. She seems to have changed her mind, so unless she changes it back, I now have a 642. I have fallen in love with it, and it goes into my...

    Casting wheelweights

Good information, Curator! I used to cast wheelweights for a Marlin 1895 45-70 waaay back in the 70's when they first came out. At that time, the barrels had "micro-groove" rifling, and I never did get good accuracy with pure wheelweight castings for some strange reason. Now that I'm interested...

    Casting wheelweights

Thanks for all of the replies. Sounds like I need to mix a little lead with the wheelweights, or buy a loading press. 250 pounds of wheelweights is a lot to go unused.
