My guess is too much initial pressure and the bullet blew through the rifling without imparting any spin, and the only way to prove it was the soft recovery.
I have 42. This count counts contender and encore frames only, not the many barrels and counts only at-15 lowers. I need to buy a couple of lowers so I can stop rotating uppers.
I have both, a Bullberry in 7.62 x 39 and a MGM in 357 mag. Both are very accurate barrels. To me, the Bullberry has a deeper blue finish. That is the only difference I see.
Your question was NOT stupid. If you look at a trajectory chart, you will find the bullet crosses the line of sight twice. Once close to muzzle and again at a longer range. Your 30-30 will cross the first time at about 25 yards with a typical scope mounted in standard, as in low rings. Then...
I have never tried using my chrono in a light rain before. Does the rain mess us a sky screen chrono? I was sailing along on a 24 round test when a light rain started. Out of the last 8 rounds I got 7 error messages. Was using a new battery, fresh, just opened Dura Cell. When I quit, the...

I also have a Marlin m60, and love it. You can use a brass drift and a small hammer and drive the base of the rear sight in the direction you want the bullet to move. It will not take much, maybe 1/16", and you should be on target.
I tried these in my 303 Enfield with 12 grains of Unique, at 50 yards they hit the target sideways and would not keep 3 rounds in a 12" circle. Some Enfield barrels are larger than SKS barrels, but I would be surprised if they worked any better for you.
