Fine enough to shoot target loads if that's all your shooting at, but I prefer to target shoot my hunting rifles with the same load I hunt with for familiarity. Then again, I'm not shooting dozens of rounds every weekend with it either.

I would start at 80 grains of BP with whatever projectile you fancy and move up from there until maximum accuracy is achieved. If by chance 80 grains was the best, I'd try reducing the load a bit to see if accuracy improves.

Patched balls are not the norm with C&B revolvers but there are those who have done it and even some that prefer it albeit the minority for sure

Except that most the bison were killed by those other factors before the large scale hunting even started, and those other factors kept on killing them right along with the hunters. So the other factors were a larger impact on decimating the herds than hunting was. Did hunting speed things up...

Of course large scale hunting didn't help, but it's already been noted that half the bison population died off before that hunting even started, yet so many foks don't want to place the blame on those same forces that took the herd from 100% to 50% and kept on taking their toll down to about 1%

How hard have you looked? If hunters killed all the bison they would have to kill 4 Million per year for 30 years to bring the poputaion near to zero. Choose your favorite buffalo cartridge and do your own simple math as to how much lead that would require but if we assume 450 grains per shot...

I'm not a fan of faux materials especially in conjunction with traditional pursuits such as Black Powder revolvers. I'm guessing the ivory is faux, so no go. The pearl has a better chance of being "real" if so great, if not, stick with real wood in my opinion.
