Need to think about keeping the vault door closed (but not locked) during tornado, and how to get it open from the inside if the house collapses on the vault and door...
I use double ended wadcutters from Missouri Bullets. 3.6 grains of HP-38. Seat them in the second crimp grove (one grove on each end, hence "double ended") giving the deeper seat.

I wouldn't call 3.9 grains of HP-38 and 148gr Lead DEWC "hot".
My hand hurt for 10 days. I bought a padded glove, cut the fingers off and shot 25 or so this week without pain. I'm still going to look into the new grips for practice.
Thanks to everyone.

I just got back from Academy. I asked a young guy for "handball gloves". He got a funny look, and said "I'm not familiar with that sport". I really haven't found a glove with padding in the right spot, but still looking...

This is all good stuff! Thanks a lot. I'm on the prowl for a glove, and I'm going to load some lighter rounds this week, instead of shooting it. My Model 19 6 inch loves the heavier rounds, so all is good.
Thanks everyone!

So I got a new S&W 38 Bodyguard last week. On Monday I shot 50 38 Special rounds (reloads that were pretty much at the top of 38 Special power). Near the end, my hand began to hurt in the area between index finger and thumb. It's been 7 days and still hurts. It's not terrible hurt, just...
I've had two issues with my auto disk loader that ~may~ be of interest.
1) Once I didn't have my through powder expanding die set properly, and I was "gingerly" raising the ram in order to not over expand the mouth of the brass. Result was inconsistent powder drops.
2) I was going along...
I sat down last night to decap about 500 spent .357 brass. Here's what I learned:
1) Lee classic turret has a lot of leverage
2) The tip of the universal de-cap pin, driven by the leverage has a lot of force on a little bit of surface area
3) When the tip, driven by that leverage enters...
.177 pellet gun. I have 2 purple martin colonies and they love to kill the martins and demolish the nests and break the eggs. French fries make the best bait (have you ever been to a fast food place around dusk?...Starlings everywhere.
Here is a response from Speer Service I received Wednesday:

Tom,
Part # 23921 or 38 Special 135 GR +P Gold Dot Short Barrel is indeed still an active product. We are trying our honest best to meet the high demand.
We apologize for any inconvenience...
"There are some reloaders who have even double stacked these in .357 cases as a self defense round that generates double impact on the target."
As described here. (on the 100 Grain DBBWC page). Anyone doing this? Results?
Thanks in advance
Tom
