    I'd like to buy a .257 Wby but ammo is $70 for a box of 20. Cha-ching!!

New Member? Introduce yourself here (just intros, questions get answered elsewhere)

Hi all. My name is Eric. I'm 38, and from San Diego. I became an NRA life member today (thanks Homers!). I'm a 14-year Navy vet with deployments to Kosovo and North Sumatra, and continue on in the Reserves. I like to go surfing and shoot guns! :) I own a Glock 23 .40 cal and am looking...

    $300 NRA life membership

Thanks to Homers, I'm now a new life member of the NRA! Thank you!!! I called 1-800-672-3888 and they told me it's easier to call direct at 1-703-267-1000. I called that number and after a wait they transferred me to the life member dept. From there it was pretty easy. Thanks again! Eric

Tell me about your S&W 329PD...?

I'm guessing the 327PD (.357 mag) kicks as much as a steel 44 mag?

Tell me about your S&W 329PD...?

Pintler, I'm of the same mind set as you. I also carry bear pepper spray, but would like to keep my load as minimal as possible. I figure the less it weighs the more likely I'll carry it. A lot of guys complain about the 329's recoil so maybe I'll scour GB to see if anyone is selling a barely...

    Ear protectors

I think the seal is made of a harder foam (?) so it would leave a little gap where my shooting glasses ran underneath, letting sound in. This was very unpleasant when a guy next to me...

Tell me about your S&W 329PD...?

I'm considering buying this revolver as a backup gun for hunting/backpacking in grizzly country. I'd like to hear from owners. Do you give it a thumbs up or down...? I understand recoil is a real SOB, but packability is great. Thanks! Eric

Which Classic bolt action? Cooper 54 or Sako 85?

I'm a fan of Sakos over the Cooper.

so, what do you prefer to call them: Guns or Firearms?

Hard to go wrong with "boom stick". ;)

Gun stores aren't what they used to be

I like to support my local gun shop but for large purchases - guns, optics - they are not price competitive with what I can get online, even if you factor in FFL transfer fees. Ammo selection is usually pretty bad at the shops and prices are very high. It's too bad. I understand overhead and...
