    Trijicon rear sight

Agreed on the green, wicking type Loctite. Just an update ... The material that the Trijicon rear in this sight set is made from is not very amenable to filing (nor taking cold blue). Not like a standard "iron" sight. Suffice it to say that I essentially just ended up drifting the rear...

    Trijicon rear sight

You've installed them so I will take your advice and will file/fit first. I'm almost tempted to drill and tap for a set screw just for some extra insurance. Then again, I'm not even 100% sure I want to install this sight. I staked in the tritium front but Im not all that big on...

    Trijicon rear sight

Asked on another forum, no joy so trying here ... I'm replacing sights on a combat commander. I've installed enough sights before but have a question specific to these (Trijicon brand). This is the rear for gov. dovetail. Normally, I would file to achieve a press fit 1/3 or maybe a hair more...

    1911 Half Cock issue

Sear/hammer look good on pins on outside of frame and contact looks good and even. The shim pretty much trashed the factory sear (burr around sear pin hole). I'm gonna play with some spare parts. Thanks

    1911 Half Cock issue

Working on a project gun. Colt MKIV series 80. Not a sample of Colts finest work. Problem is that the trigger pull drops hammer from half cock. I know this would be normal if it were a series 80 hammer but it's not the original series 80 hammer with the low/flat half cock shelf. The...
