I use 165gr Sierra game kings with great results. A heavier bullet may give you better accuracy. I have had 2 savages in 308 and neither of them were that accurate with a 150gr bullet but were tack drivers with 165,168 & 175's
So I recently purchased a used lyman 500 scale. It's the older metal based model. It is missing the brass powder pan though. I thought I would easily be able to locate a factory replacement but it is proving to be more difficult than I thought. Does anyone know if the pans from RCBS or...
5-shots if I slingshot the slide the round will chamber.
Kco- mag appears to be aligned properly.
Sounds like I need to break the mags in a little bit. I will try loading and unloading them or see if I can borrow someone's well broken in magazine. It runs fine after the first round so that...
Hey all,
So I just purchased a new Ruger 1911. Previously all I have owned are glocks. This is my first foray into the 1911 world so maybe this is normal or I need to break it in or something.
When I put a new mag in the gun and press the slide release the rounds seems to nose dive into the...

Also there is an excellent German smith in The Afton area. A friend of mine...
We use an ice eater or a 4 wheeler to bust ice. Sounds like your water is too deep for a atv. Is a generator to run the ice eater an option? If not using a hammer or saw every morning is a lot of work.
I have let my friends use my press before. Especially since finding ammo to go shooting is about impossible. I walk them through the process and supervise as they do the labor to make sure they don't make any mistakes.
I recently moved to a 550 from the Lee turret....nothing like pumping out a leisurely 3-400'rounds an hour :)
I found my powder measure to be within a tenth of a grain on every round I weighed. Glad your happy with your new purchase!
Same here. I have a number of the 30 cal ammo cans. For 9, 40, and 45 I just fill them up with loose rounds and fill my plastic ammo containers before I go to the range. They are stackable and hold a lot of rounds.
Well I got my barrel back this week. Have not had a chance to shoot it but I am definitely NOT happy with Storm Lake. They stamped the barrel G23 9MM....problem is my gun is a .40. Their response to me in short was "Sorry, it can be buffed off we use a buffing wheel but I am sure a local...
