1911 was not designed with firing pin safety that came along 70 yrs. later.With 1911(PRE 80 SERIES OR NO FIRING PIN SAFETY) in half cocked POSITION when dropped can go off.

Don't think so,rnd in chamber hammer back safety on is the way to carry a 1911. Rnd in chamber hammer down not safe.

I have a pm 45 have been carrying it for about 3 years it has never failed shoot it quite a bit but don't shoot any steel case ammo in it at all.Carry ammo is cor-bon 185's but it shoots win.white box,cci,blazers etc.Did have a pm9 and also a p45 that i gave my son never any problems.

I have a hi power from the late 70's early 80's w/ adj. sights and love it but it only gets minimal range time because every time i take it out someone trys to buy it.
