Traditional or inline depends a lot on personal taste and the intended purpose. Me, I prefer the traditional types as I already have a bunch of modern guns and I like the historical nature of them.
Cleaning is easy, you can use solvents or the old hot, soapy water in a bucket method. I've...
Variety is the spice of life so I do have others but levers are the ones I shoot most by far. Realistically my Win. 94 Legacy model in .30-30 or my Marlin 1894 in .44 Mag. is all I really need. They're much more fun to shoot too. :)
I couldn't find a 358182 so I'm sure what you have is the 358432. It is a .38 cal. wadcutter mold that was available in either of two different weights, 148 or 160 gr.. Lyman listed the no. 429 top punch for this mold. Hope this helps.
Realistically I don't need more than three or four for any practical purposes I might have. The rest are only because I find them interesting or just plain fun. Getting bored easily due to a really short attention span kinda helps too......:)
I've never tried any of the spray lubes but for lubing inside the neck, every three or four cases are dipped in powdered graphite. I just wipe off the outside of the case before sizing. There probably are better solutions but it seems to work ok.
I think flintlocks are about the most fun kind of shooting there is! It's been a little over 300 years since the French and Indians attacked my neighborhood but still you can never be sure, so I keep my Kit Ravenshear .75 Doglock Trade Musket handy. :)
You bet! I use my Savage 23B to good effect on the woodchuck population. The 60 gr. Hornady FN works very well for me with either IMR-4227 or Win. 680 behind it.
Right you are BlkHawk73! You know your history. I do live in Scarborough and Scottow's Fort stood a few hundred yards from where I'm sitting. :D
It was there until the French and Indians decided to pay it a visit in the 1690's.
Nope, no camo for me either. Right or wrong it does project a mall ninja image that I want to avoid. I just wear whatever I normally wear on the weekend, jacket, shirt or sweatshirt depends on the time of year and jeans almost always.
Another vote for the .303 Savage! Or at the very least I wish someone, like Starline for example, would start producing brass for it. I realize they wouldn't sell a lot but it is a niche that needs filling.
While they're at it maybe some .219 Zipper too?
I'm thinking that the force of the explosion is not the real issue here. I think it's more that if a round goes off while being compacted in the back of a garbage truck the resulting flame could start a fire. A burning garbage truck cannot be a pretty sight.......:D
The only practical reason I can think of is to increase sales. Kind of like flashlights with a camo finish...think about it, the only time anyone has one out is in the dark. :D
