I am going to through out one that has not been mentioned yet. EAA witness that you can get in a .45 / 22 conversion. I got one off of gun broker for just over $400 after shipping and ffl transfer. The witness is a great gun but if you do have troubles EAA is not fun to deal with, more like a...
My wife has the thunder plus. I carry it form time to time when I do not want to carry my full size hand guns. It is a good gun, little thicker then the regular thunder but my wife and I both like the way it fits our hands better then the thinner thunders.
I am no help as where to find factory ammo as I reload.
If you are going to want to shoot much at all you will start to reload. To buy a box of 10mm you will pay close to $50 of cheep stuff. I load my 10mm for less than $5 a box. As you can see you will pay off the cost of equipment quite fast.
I like Blue dot in 9mm. 7.8gr with a cast lee 124gr TC bullet = good stuff. It is also cleaner then W231 with much less carbon build up. I get around 1200fps with it, and that is all the harder I wanted it to go so for me it is pretty much my go to powder for 9mm.
When it comes to Tanfoglio they are good guns. When it comes to EAA the importer of the Tanfoglio they SUCK!!! There is a difference. If you have a problem with a Tanfoglio you pretty much have to deal with EAA and that is where the bad name comes in.
With my 10mm witness I have had a few mags that are more squared in the front. They would go in OK but you would have to take the top off and push down on the mag to get it to come back out. I have found the ones that are more rounded off in the front fit and work well.
I would guess that you may have a few problems going on. First have you slugged your barrel to see what size it is? I have found that going .002 over the barrel size fixes 75% of the problems. 2nd they may be to hard for a low pressure round. I cast my own .45 and they are about a 14 bhn with a...
I too have switched to blue dot for my cast 125gr boolits. 7.3gr I get about 1200 fps + - 50fps. Nice tight groups and no leading. I was using W231 and if I got any faster than 850fps the bullets started to tumble and lead like mad.
As a nice surprise I think blue dot is MUCH cleaner than...
Ku4hx beat me to it but yes you can shoot lead with poly. In my experience fit is what you will need to know. .002 bigger and 90% of the challenge is over.
It is fairly normal to see lube on a target. All it means is the bullet did not use all the lube as it traveled down the barrel and it is still spinning off the bullets as it is going down range. This is probably a hard lube, and if it is working with your gun keep on shooting and having fun.
I too have a 10 witness and yes it tosses the brass a good 15 yards. I got a brass catcher that attaches to the rail and that catches 95% of the brass and the other 5% hits the catcher and falls right down by my feet.
Truer words have never been spoken. The guns are some of the best out there. Too bad they have a bad importer. I had to deal with them not to long ago, they did fix the issue but it was a frustrating experience.
I have the LCP 380 and if that thing hurts your hand you may want to give up shooting!!!:D
I am joking with ya but I honestly do not think it is bad at all. Maybe because I was expecting much worse from such a small gun. Like others have said smaller gun more felt recoil.
To chime in on EAA's customer service, In Dec I sent my 10mm wonderfinish in because the safety broke and the finish was coming off the inside of the slide. The side was not cracked.
When I sent it in they shipped it back about 3 weeks later and nothing was fixed. I called down to them the...
