    Ruger Recall on SR-22

    Thank you, @dobedo.

    .22 Rifle Accuracy

I’ve got about 37 different kinds of bulk HV ammo in my stash, and none of them seem to be particularly accurate. I have started using CCI or Aguila SV ammo, and both seem more accurate than the HV ammo. I suspect that’s a result of the SV ammo being better quality-controlled & consistent, but...

If You Desire to Have an Attorney and Cannot Afford One, ....

Let me assure you that not all public defenders are inexperienced or incompetent. For example, I am currently a public defender & I’ve been involved in the active practice of litigation for over 20 years. In my small (4 county, probably <100k total population), I don’t think we have a pub def...

    Proposal to reclassify marijuana

If y’all want this to stay open in Legal, someone needs to track down some laws or bill’s supporting this. Discussions “in the news” doesn’t really cut it for Legal discussions.

I don't want a Sig P365. Tell me why I'm wrong or offer options.

I remember when I first saw guns built on the chassis idea and I have to agree. It seems like a fantastic route to go.

^^^You and me, both. I've never had anything with parallax adjustment, either.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

Me, too! Thank you, one and all. Well, Natchez still has the Serac, from what I can tell: https://www.natchezss.com/viridian-serac-rifle-scope-6-24x50-30mm-sfp-etched-vfd-2-black

    = $95 = Viridian Serac 6-24x50 (30mm tube) - Natchez Tax Refund Sale

Welp, I got mine mounted today! I dropped it off this morning and the local gunsmith got it mounted and bore-sighted before close of business. It still looks like a whole lotta scope to me, but I'm not what you'd call "vastly experienced" in optics.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

Two items: (1) that one-shot zero is impressive! and (2) any chance we could get a pic of that gizmo above in action? I think I know how it works, but am not quite sure.

what won't you won't shoot at (and why)

Another vote for "I don't shoot at glass," for reasons already mentioned. It's harder to list the things I don't shoot than the things I do, which include: oranges, cabbage, other fruits and vegetables, paper & metal targets, soup cans. I don't shoot animals (unless hunting or threatened...

What's your preferred every day carry?

Still liking it, I presume? I think I remember when those came out & I’ve always been curious about them.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

Thank you. Very helpful. This stuff still has a whole lot of PFM in it for me, but it's beginning to make sense.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

@Varminterror - I edited the above for brevity. Hopefully, I didn’t break it up too bad or take things out of context. I’m just about set to return my EGW 30 MOA rail. I was going to put it on my Ruger American Rimfire, Target model, and mount my Veridian Serac on top of it. Are you saying...

I don't own a P365, but I have to admit that it looks like Sig has that whole "modularity" thing down.

What usually happens if having to use a gun in an altercation?

Yes, some or all of the above could happen, as in "there is a non-zero probability." That's quite different from "it's going to happen." To greater or lesser degrees, all of us who CC run some non-zero risk that: (a) we'll be involved in a SD shooting; and (b) we'll have to deal with law...

    IWB Holster Design

A search for your specific gun got me this: https://stealthgearusa.com/holster/smith-and-wesson-shield-9-40-ct-lg-489-red/ I don't know about using the AIWB at 3 or 4, but they do make a Ventcore IWB that I'm pretty sure would work just fine at 3 or 4 o'clock...

    Gun-toting lawyers in Arkansas

Yeah, it's complicated, all right. Historically, courthouses have been "no-go zones," but Chris Corbitt has been itching to test the limits of carry for a while. (Arkansas has a fairly small legal community & I know him.) Very well said. The ruling certainly introduces a new variable into...
