    308 M1 Garands

The reason I want to convert is, I already have one in 30-06, and the main reason is I have lots and lots and lots of 308 (south afrikan surpluse). I need a rifle for the ammo and I like being able to store it in the enblock clips instead of magazine with springs to get weak. Any gunsmiths...

    .243 rifles

Dont get suckered into the "gotta have the 750 multi magnum express argument". Its all about shot placement. If you are comfortable shooting a 243 and will put the bulet where it needs to be, then you're good. The best advice I can give you is: shoot, shoot and shoot. Its all about bullet...

Thanks for all the responses guys. I will take her out of the stock this weekend and see what she has for USGI parts. By the way, not trying to sound foolish but the parts will be stamped USGI right? Joe

    Early M1-A whats it worth?

Have an early M1-A that has a 4 digit serial number that was purchased back in 1980. Has a full walnut stock and is mint. I bought it and never fired it. What are these worth now adays? Im not into the 308 so I wanted to see what kind of value these have as I might (probably will) sell it...

243 Win VS 260 Rem which would be better for a first hunting rifle?

I reload so ammo isnt a problem. I'm just surprised that the 243 has that much less kick than the 260. Ive never shot either. I shoot a 7mm-08 in a Rem 788 and a 270 in a Win Model 70. I really liked that the 260 could last them a life time aspect of it. Joe

243 Win VS 260 Rem which would be better for a first hunting rifle?

I need to choose between one of these to calibers for a first hunting rifle for my wife and son. They are both small (5' and under and weigh 100 lbs or less). They do both shoot 20 gauge shotguns very well. I was going to get them each 260's but a friend today said that it would kick to much...

Help, need good gunsmith to fix my model 70

I have a model 70 in 270 (about 10 yrs old with the control round feed) that used to shoot like a house afire. (3/4 inch groups at 100 yrds with factory federal ammo. I didnt hunt the last 2 yrs so it stayed in the safe and now it wont keep the shots on paper at 100 yrs. My gunsmith said the...

    Berretta 391, any good?

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I went ahead and bought both of them. My wife really likes the 20 and it only needed to be shortened a little to fit her. Thanks again Joe

.357 Magnum day at the range

That Buffalo Bore load is great. I shot it thru a 6" model 27 and a 4" model 586. You could really feel the difference in the recoil. I would feel comfortable carrying that load for woods defence or to hunt with it. Joe

    Berretta 391, any good?

I have a chance to buy 2 of these (1 in 12 and a youth model in 20) they belong to a friend of mine who bought them for him and his daughter to try and she put 10 rounds thru it and said it kicked to much and he shot 2 boxes thru his and decided he liked his fancy over under more and offered to...

    Colt New Frontier purchase advice

All I can tell you is if you find one you should buy it. It took me 3 years to find my 3rd gen 44 special NF (5 1/2" barrel). It had been shot quiet a bit but still in great mechanical shape. It is the most accurate 44 special that I have ever shot. I will never sell it. I am thinking about...
