That's what I see. I always rest my wrist for handguns and have something like a finger or a palm pad between the rest and the stock on rifles. Atza way I lurnt and the way I doot. :)

Firing with gun on wood. ???

I was watching Top Shot on the Roku channel. The contestants were shooting various guns and..... resting them on solid wood. Tables and rails. ❓ I have never shot from a rest with the gun itself resting on NO padding of any sort. I even avoid sticking it against a tree. Has the...

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

Which of the "gun orgs" aren't dependent on FIREARMS company advertising? We've thought "gun orgs" would suffice for 60 some years now and we still can't own the guns or accessories that we want. If the firearms companies would switch their ...advertising.... to BRIBES, (politicians, actors...

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

I will agree that a lot of folks see "the need to defend themselves and their families" but my view is that they place FEAR of prosecution or backlash or simple cowardice to DO it! I know this is a gun forum and not all of us will admit to cowardice but as I said, we need to talk to NON gun...

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

I used to belong to a senior meetup group. I set up and created an ...event... through a local gun store. It was one of the MOST ATTENDED of any of the group's events. WOMEN ....flocked to this thing. They were very happy to get some info that their "hubbys" and relatives wouldn't even...

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

Not sure that is effective. I think we gunnys need to get a BIT woke. It would be hard to do but a PR ...change... is what is needed. IMO. As it is, I find the NRA almost useless. SATURATION PROPAGANDA FOR GUNS is my idea. A competition benefitting some disease or women's rights, as...

Think we could reverse the anti gun trend?

I know we make ..some strides.. toward that goal. But just now I am wondering if we are smart about how we gun people are going about it. The PUBLIC doesn't get our picture and they form their opinions from mostly liberal media sources. I wonder what would be the result of creating gun...

Do you clean the bore of your ....22.... REVOLVERS ??

Back in my days of going to matches, I subscribed to the theory of "BULLET POLISH" and did not clean 22s. Is this still a valid theory? For REVOLVERS ? Even with the cylinder to barrel gap jump? I don't use a bore snake and just carefully run an oily mop down the bore from the muzzle...

    Sticking cylinder on S&W 8 shot .22 M63

Shot it today. Not a hitch. May have responded to the intense cleaning. or.. J frames are less smooth than K-frames. Tried my old M36 Chief Spl and the cylinder is not AS limber as the K series. Smaller frame just ain't as sweet 🤔

    Sticking cylinder on S&W 8 shot .22 M63

Problem solved. On another forum, one reader noticed my mention of the Herculean pressure I had to put on the cylinder release button. .....and he suggested it COULD be my ....arthritis... and the resulting weakness that involves. I also..(hadn't tried because hadn't thought of it) slightly...

    Sticking cylinder on S&W 8 shot .22 M63

I may have used the wrong word, "sticking" in the OP. Perhaps a better word would be "hanging up." I have not noticed this while....shooting. The hangup seems to be with the gun empty after cleaning or during any periodic inspection as I always pop out the cylinder whenever I pick up ANY...

    Sticking cylinder on S&W 8 shot .22 M63

Only when swinging out. It ...shoots.... fine. Great, in fact. That's what is pissing me off. And I made a new "discovery." If I.....jiggle... the cylinder, it releases better. Arrrrghhhh! :fire::cuss:

    Sticking cylinder on S&W 8 shot .22 M63

Yep. That's what puzzle me. The "pushing up" that makes it work was what made me think of the bolt. But the bolt and the bolt cuts in the cylinder look good.

    Sticking cylinder on S&W 8 shot .22 M63

It is ...SPORADIC !! 😡 Seems to be only a segment of the cylinder. And a ...random... segment at that. I've cleaned everything. The ejector rod is tight. There is good lockup. Nearly imperceptible end play. It ...seems... to work "better" if I apply some upward pressure on the...

NOT a trigger shoe... a HAMMER shoe!

Well, an hour, a pipe full of cavendish, and a Dremel. Defanged the spur. (may buy a new hammer to use as a wood rasp.) 😄 Tightened the ejector housing. Paint thinner to remove the residue from the protective masking tape. Wiped down.... And .....done. ☺️

NOT a trigger shoe... a HAMMER shoe!

In fact, it seems that FEW are competent enough to even offer or advertise what they can do. My search turned up nationwide TIG welders of everything except small parts. And of course, Lowes and Home Depot come up in the search so maybe I can BUY a Tig welder and practice til I get good...

NOT a trigger shoe... a HAMMER shoe!

Just yesterday I got an idea to try slipping a piece of flexible tubing over the hammer spur. Will try that. :)
