I picked this up at a yard sale for $25! Yes, it is in very very bad condition - but still neat. I can only find two markings on it.
1. Belgian (E over LG star) Proof House Marking...
2. 8734 on Barrel...
3. 47 1/2 Inches (Butt to end of Barrel)...
Any idea what it could be...
FIREARM: Swiss 1842 Percussion Musket
MARK: V in Circle
LOCATION: Top of Barrel and left side of stock (on wood).
NOTE: Found 6 other references (1895 Spanish Mauser, etc.) to "V" inside of circle - all asking what it is and getting no answer.
No - but will jump over real quick.
