    Ruger SR45 trigger

I know when the SR series first came out that the full sized SR9 had a very different trigger than the SR9c, but supposedly that was improved. Has anyone heard if the new Sr45 will have the improved trigger? Watching some videos of people shooting it at Shot Show and it looked the the reset was...

    Opinions On Shoulder Holsters

I am one of the people that love them. Well I love mine that is. I have a Galco Miami Classic 2 that I use for my glock 26, have also used it for the g17 as well. What made me turn to a shoulder holster is that no belt holsters are comfortable for me. Not in the waistband nor on the waistband...

    Kel Tec 9

My first subcompact carry gun was a PF9 and it was a piece of garbage. Very picky with ammo, woudnt shoot anyother other than 115gr, and kicked worse than a snubby. Hated that gun. Got rid of it and picked up a Kahr CM9 and couldnt believe the difference in the shootability. Like night and day

    XDM9mm vs Glock 17

As the previous post said, the XDm will put you in a different class, but don't let that deter you. Gun games and shooting in general is much more about the shooter than the firearm. Don't be scared away bc of the 1911. I have had several XDm's and even though I am a "glock guy" the XDm 5.25 is...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

1911 guy brings up a good point, the smaller the pistol the more problems you potentially face. I believe thats why Wilson Combat doesnt make a 45 with a barrel less than 4", the design just doesnt lend itself to that. My hat goes off to Wilson for bringing that to the attention of potential...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

I apologize for highjacking the thread and turning it into a glock vs 1911 debate, which has been done to death. A wise man once said "whenever you're having an argument with an idiot, make sure he isnt doing the same thing". Agree to disagree. Every test thats ever been done where the 1911 did...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

They were in hard use for decades by people who were familiar with maintaining equipment. It was only with the advent of the "casual shooter" and shooters who were unfamiliar with getting their fingernails dirty that the 1911 began to garner a reputation for unreliability. It was in hard use...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

Of course bastardized copies that didn't hold tolerances fed into that rumor, too You are a man who knows what he is talking about. A 1911 has to be finely tuned in order to properly run, but even then I wouldn't say its as reliable as a glock. As for the pink slips, hell no! I wouldn't bet...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

No thanks. Keep dunking your Glock in that bucket of sand, it will only get more "perfect" (or at least it will hold more sand). For the record, I don't own any Wilson Combat pistols either. I build mine from naked Baer frames and slides. And they have gone over a thousand rounds a day many...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

Yes actually, I DO wanna bet. If you are in the Columbus area I would be more than happy to meet you at a local range for a little glock vs 1911 action? I'll bring a bucket of sand and you can bring your Wilson Combat, we will burry each in the bucket and then have a shoot-off.....I bet you I...

Glock trigger - Perfection or So-So?

I have personally always liked the Glock trigger. I think it is the best trigger out of all the polymer guns (stock). But many people do not like it. You won't find a Glock with a 1911 trigger, but you won't find a 1911 with Glock reliability either. You can get used to a trigger, you can't make...

    Is it worth it economically?

Once you begin reloading you will find that it becomes just as much of a hobby as shooting, so cost becomes less of a determining factor. Yes you save money per round, but that becomes secondary to the enjoyment of the hobby.

    Which caliber?

Buy a reloading set up and then the cost of ammo will be less of a concern.

    Beginning to understand Glock...

I guess I am one of those people who picked up a Glock and it just worked for me. And I think I am also one of he few people that actually like the trigger; I think its the best of all the polymer guns out there. I purchased my first 1911 last year after a few years of shooting Glocks and...

Welcome me to the dark side?

Great choice. The g26 is the gun that really got me into firearms and to this day is my favorite glock. Not as small as the modern ccw options in 9mm, but is the best shooter of any non-full sized gun I am come across and that includes the new m&p shield. Plus with the versatility of being able...

    New 9mm search advice.

As many have said the Ruger SR9c is a great option. However the manual safety on it is very small ans difficult to quickly click on/off. The M&P has a thumb safety option that is much more pronounced like a 1911 and would be much easier to sweep off during the draw stroke. That would be my vote

Say I buy a 1911 with same features from Colt, Sig, Ruger, Smith.. Will I see a diff?

You won't see a difference....they will all be overpriced and unreliable

    Glock Problems

That is discouraging. I've had a handful of glocks, 3 of them were 26's and I haven't had any problems. i have also reloaded for said glocks and I use the minimum amount of powder that will cycle the firearm. the g26 needs less powder than the 17 or 19 because of the lighter slide. Being that...

    + for the FN 5.7x28mm

Good info, thanks for posting. I had no idea the 5.7 was that clean-running of a gun. I personally have never picked up one up though because unless you are shooting at someone with body armor, its a very ineffective round.

    .45 ACP decision...

I had a Kahr CW45 for a minute. I personally was not impressed. I loved the cm9 I had for a while and figured the 45 would fall right in line but it didnt. It ejected nearly every round directly back into my face, and it was not nearly as small as I thought it would be, although definitely light...
