    First gun?..

I would still take Dave's advice. Even if you aren't that outgoing, most places will have some rental/loaner guns that they will let you shoot. Call where you shoot ahead and check what they have. This gives you the added bonus of having someone with experience help you out with gun fit.

    First gun?..

I'm a lefty and shoot an 1100, never had a problem with vented gas. For what it's worth I don't think I've ever had any problems shooting a right handed shotgun lefty (unless it has a palm swell or something like that). At a range, operating the safety doesn't need to be done quickly, so the...

    First gun?..

For what you're describing, I think some sort of semi would be best. Some flavor of Beretta (390, 3901, 391) seems like it would fit the bill for what you need it for. If you could find one for around 500, I would go with that. Otherwise, an 1100 would suit your purposes well and finding a...

    Old revolver ID?

My fiancee's grandmother asked me to help identify an old revolver owned by her husband. I know not a thing about revolvers, unfortunately. Doesn't look like there are any visible markings on the gun, save for a serial number underneath the trigger guard. Any ideas?

    Shotgun identification?

Thanks for the heads up, had an inkling it was a cheapo. Will pass on it. I don't think I've ever seen sling mounts on an over under. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't walking on something valuable.

    Shotgun identification?

Hi all, I was wondering if someone might be able to ID a shotgun someone offering as a trade to me. He says that his father bought it originally for 450 dollars but he can't find a manufacturer. No other specifics as of yet. I can pester him for more pictures if necessary. Any help is...

Best way to deal with rust?

Well, that was surprisingly easy. I was afraid the steel wool would scratch the bluing up but it looks fine. Thanks for the advice. It looks like the rust has lightened up the bluing a bit where the spots were. Are there any easy to use good cold bluing products that I could use to touch it up?

Best way to deal with rust?

Hi, I recently picked up an older 11-87 Premier for a great price, but its a little bit rough. I noticed some light spots of rust on the receiver which are hardly noticeable, but I'd like to do something about them. Any recommendations? Here is a picture:
