    Favorite .45

SIG 220 Cary DAK Is the only short barreled .45 I have. Lately it has become my go to carry gun mainly because the thought of losing my custom 1911 to a evidence locker is enough to keep me up at night. That and the fact that I cary a 229 DAK for a work gun makes the manipulation drills easier...

    1911, Flat Triggers?

I have the 10-8 Long flat trigger in my Springfield loaded stainless. Also have the 10-8 Slide Stop, Extended single side safety, magazine release and sights. All are extremely high quality and well thought out. I like the fact that the trigger feels the same no matter where your finger falls...

Ruger SR9 and CZ75; compare and contrast

I have owned both and still own the CZ's. My main carry piece is a Customized P01 My favorite range toy is my S/A CZ 75B. I also have large hands and the PO1 feels great. By adding SP01 magazine floorplates on to standard full sized 16 round mags I have found that my hand does not feel cramped...

    Accidental discharge! Ekk!

If it's a wartime produced pistol have it gone through, lots of reports of intentionally sabotaged weapons or just the stress of the 65+years of wear and tear on something produced during war time.

    cz75bd to cz75b

Nope you are better off trading the BD in on a B. Sorry. On the bright side a call to Cajun Gun Works will get you all the parts you need to make the BD trigger every bit as good as anything you can do with the B. I have a P01 and a 75 B both have been given the full house treatment with parts...

    HD night stand: your pick?

Mine would be and is a SIG 220R DAK Carry with a TLR 1 It also has night sights. Like a well tuned revolver with a magazine. Currently loaded with 230 grain Rem Golden Sabers I'm sure it will keep me well protected untill I can wake Mr. Benelli. Like has been stated I dont want to make any...

    I'll NEVER buy another SIG

H&K and Glock fan boys can not stand when someone likes another weapon other than their favorite. I've carried a SIG 229 for 3 years on duty and it has never failed, I carried a Beretta 92 for 7 years prior to that another fine weapon. There are a lot of great pistols out there try a couple you...

    Heckler & Koch P7M13 Review

Still kick myself for not buying one from the Rod and Gun Shop in Munich in 88. They wanted $650 for a NIB specimin but I couldnt justify it on a E-3's salary.

    I'll NEVER buy another SIG

And by the way real men don't need a thumb safety on a pistol. So those that shoot and carry Glocks, M&P's and XD's are just as safe without extra crap added onto a gun. __________________ Ever here of Glock leg Jr? Something that happens enough to get named means you real men are just as...

    I'll NEVER buy another SIG

Ahem, SIG's are no more accurate than HK's. My HK threaded barrel dropped right in without an issue. However, Sig did state some fitting may be required, so while SIG should have a drop in barrel by now it really shouldn't have been a surprise to the OP. If their tolerances were truly that...

    I'll NEVER buy another SIG

No, offense, but 21 feet isn't squat for an accuracy test, and I wouldn't buy a Sig with your money. Pop's talks about having to qualify at 50 yards with a 1911 A1. He didnt tell you how big the target was though did he?? Check out the size of the old military qual targets before...

Selling the 1911 and going Tupperware?

Not every gun is for every one. Good thing there are literally thousands of differant guns out there to fit everyone's tastes. I dont like plastic framed guns but am large enough and have several top flight holsters and more importantly great belts so carrying a full sized 1911 is not an issue...

Any reason to not carry a full size

At 5'7" and 135 the full sized Glock is going to make you look deformed. At 6'6 and north of 300Lbs I can conceal just about anything short of a M1 Abrams. So either start eating pasta or find something a bit thinner with smoother outline otherwise even with the best IWB holster you are going to...

Why hasn't the Hi Power gone the way of the 1911?

I love the look of the P35 hate everything else about it. To me it points like a brick. Not quite high point brick but not to far off. I bought one of the Argentine models to see if I liked the pistol with the intent of finding a solid older browning if I did. Figured $200 for the FM was a...

    I am a DAK believer.

I carry one as a duty pistol in 9mm I have to say I like it a lot more than the DAO Beretta 92 D's we transitioned from.

Anybody Ever Have A 1911 "Run Away", i.e. Full Auto?

Ive had 2 runaways in my life with a 1911. One was a partsgun put together with an assortment of GI and aftermarket parts and the other was a brand new Taurus PT 1911 AR. It basicly confirmed my thoughts about Taurus QC But after smashing the factory trigger components flat A C&S Tactical Match...

    Cracked Stock Repair Help

Dont break it, Drill a hole then run a brass screw in and cut it off flush with the surface. Make sure that the threads end at the point you cut the screw off. It will last longer than you.

    7mm/08

I've had great luck with the 140grn SST and either Reloader 15 or IMR 4064. To get the most out of this cartridge you have to hand load.
