    Army wants a harder-hitting pistol

I apologize if this has already been posted. I have been out of the loop for a while. http://www.military.com/daily-news/2014/07/03/army-wants-a-harder-hitting-pistol.html?comp=1198882887570&rank=1

    Ruger's New "SR" 9E?

This...They need to get rid of the LCI, magazine disconnect and the thumb safety. It would be my favorite double-stack striker gun if they offered a non-neutered version of the SR9/40.

    Concern with New SR1911

Take it out, put a bunch of rounds through it, and enjoy the smile it will put on your face. Great purchase, congrats! One of the best buys for a 1911.

Thoughts on the S&W M&P Shield

Great EDC gun and I've had mine for about a year and a half. I carry it more than any of my other pistols in a kydex IWB. It has been trouble-free with 500 rounds. I'm very interested in the new model without the thumb safety. You would not be disappointed if you picked up a Shield.

    Glock 39 the 45 caliber alternative to a Glock 26 or 27

I have considered a 39 since 45 GAP is always available locally in a variety of options including HST. 357 SIG is awesome but I rarely see it available.

Which pistol do you wish you had back?

None. I sold them for a reason.

    Choosing between 3 small 45's

For a small .45 that you could carry: Glock 36, 30S, one of the Kahr 45s, or the XDs45 come to mind. An officer or commander sized 1911 would do the job too if you like that platform.

    Forward slide serrations?

They can look nice depending on the gun and the serration style. Not all that practical though.

    New Shield

Congrats on your purchase. Great little gun. As others said, the trigger gets better with time even though I liked it right out of the box. The only changes I plan for mine are new sights and adding some stippling for better grip. The standard rear sights are kind of sharp and I occasionally...

I've got a choice Ruger LC9 or Sig Sauer 290

Pick the one you shoot best. It also depends on how much you like safeties. The LC9 has a mag disconnect, the LCI that sticks up, and the thumb safety. With the Sig, you are the safety. The Sig also comes with a second-strike ability. In my opinion, Ruger has a better warranty if that is...

New Savage Axis II with the Accutrigger!

They just had to go ahead and do it. Looks like I have another item to add to the list. Maybe this one will be a .270 for me.

    My head is spinning

Everyone who carries has gone through this same thing and there are so many holster makers now. It can be very confusing. If you're like me, and probably most of us, you will have a holster collection over time. Everyone is different so preferences, the way you dress, and your body size/shape...

Gun Belt for someone who hasn't yet CCW

I know you ordered a leather Beltman but you might also consider the nylon option too. I like different belts depending on how I'm dressed. I recently received an EDC belt from SOE. Best purchase ever and well worth the money! This thing is rock solid and will support a ton of weight...

    147 Federal HST

I've bought all of mine through SGAmmo.com but I had to be quick. They sell out fast. I had to wait for an in stock notification.

Just traded for an sr9c and wow it is nice!

That was a great deal. The SR series are great guns. I am most accurate with the SR9c. Great sights and trigger. Good reset too. Very reliable for no matter what I feed it. I could do without all of the safety features... Congrats and enjoy the pistol.

    Defensive .223/5.56 ammo

Exactly what I meant, thanks. That is just what I keep loaded at home. There are plenty of good options in this caliber for HD. I wouldn't over think this too much. I think barrel twist, bullet weight, etc. are a little over-analyzed for use in the home. I just prefer heavier weights...
