    Savage Model 10 .243 loads

I shoot Remington 700 ADL and hold a nickel or less group at 100yds. I use a 85gr. Sierra boat tail hollow point with 37gr. 4895 and CCI primers. This load is hot but holds consistent in my rifle.

    .243 problems and questions

I have been shooting a 243 for 35yrs. and I load with IMR4895. I use 37gr. and I use a sierra 85gr. BTHP and I hold a group of a nickel or less at 100yds. I am shooting an old Remington 700ADL. This load has served me well. I have killed deer with neck ****s up to 250yds. and heart shots up to...

Full Length Resizing vs Neck Resizing

I have been shooting a remington 700 in a 243caliber for 35yrs and only full length resize when using brass not shot from my rifle. I have found that neck resizing only makes my rifle a lot more accurate. I also trim my brass to all the same length.

    Deer rifle. 243 vs 30-30

If you are hunting in thick woods I would use the 30-30,but if you are in some open areas I prefer the 243. I have hunted with a 243 for the last 35yrs. and have never lost a deer. I load my 243 with 37gr. of IMR4895 and a 85gr. Sierra BTHP and CCI primers. I have killed deer up to 400yds with...

    Just starting out

I have not reloaded for 9mm in years, but when I did I used unique powder and I use CCI primers in everything I reload. Unique and bullseye powder are cheaper powders to use due to the fact that they use so few grains of powder to reload and you will have good loads. However be careful using the...

    best starter kit

I have been reloading for 40yrs. and use rcbs press and equipment but I started using Lee dies about 20yrs. ago. I prefer the Lee dies because you cannot hurt your brass with them. RSBS dies will sometimes wrinkle your brass if you press down too hard.

What to check when rifle starts shooting poorly...

You might check you brass length , you might check your bullet seating; you might check your gap between the end of your bullet to your seating, and you might weigh your bullets to see what difference there is between them and group them in by weight.

What is the best scope magnification for shooting a 400 yards?

I have hunted in Texas for 40yrs from south Texas to the hill country and hunted in the mountains of Colorado with 4x12 40mm and never needed any more. However I just bought a Burris 4.5x14 40mm for my son and was very impressed with the clarity and it is not that expensive.

New to reloading - powder charge confusion

I have a 44 special Charter Arms Bulldog with 2in barrel and I use H110 powder. Unique power will not give you a full case charge which makes it very easy to get a double charge in your case. So while being new to reloading be very careful using unique powder. Also you will find that the Hornady...

    44mag 296 powder and 180gr XTP?

44 Mag. I shot a model 29 with 4in. barrel and use H110. I load with 200gr. Hornady with Federal magnum primer. H110 burns very clean and is very accurate. I shot the same loads in my RUGER WITH A 7IN. barrel and is still accurate. I use 25gr. of H110. There is very little recoil.

    cva mag bolt 150

I have Mag Bolt 150 that is suppose to be able to use a 209 primer. The rifle did not come with a plug for the 209 primer so I ordered a breech plug for this rifle. I installed the breech plug but the striker will not hit the primer. what else do I need or need to do to use the 209 primers.
