    Taurus PT92 & 99 Owners...

I've had my PT-99 since the mid 1980s. Easily one of the most reliable shooting weapons I own. Only recently have I replaced a couple of the springs - more because I thought I should than any other reason. Many, many, many thousands of rounds maybe 1 or 2 stovepipes that I can recall. That...

    SCCY CPX-2 or Taurus 709?

I have a 709 and have been quite happy with its performance. I've put somewhere between 1000 and 1500 rounds through it with no problems at all. The trigger is a little funky, but not hard to get used to. Extra mags seem a little pricey.

    Springfield XDs

I keep reading that they are not going to produce a .40 in the XDs line, only the .45 and a 9mm. Sigh.

Taurus quality over past five years.

I've had no problems out of any of the three that I own. (PT-99, 709 Slim, 740 Slim). In fact, the PT-99 has been my most consistent and reliable performer since I bought it in the 80s.

    9mm v. 40 S&W for all around gun?

I'm trying to figure out the "cost" issue with .40 vs 9mm. 1000 rounds of 180g FMJ .40 ammo from GA is $260.00 1000 rounds of 124 FMJ 9mm from GA is $250.00 Granted we're talking range ammo here, but $10.00 on a 1000 rounds is a big deal? Speer GD 124 +p 9mm - $20 Speer GD 168 .40 -...

    Versacarry

I've got them for my .40s and 9mms. They have their pluses and minuses. If you're the type who has frequently just stuck your gun in your waistband in the past, this will feel pretty natural to you. On the plus side, they are very small and do not add much to the width of the firearm...

how often do you clean your weapons?

I'm with this gentleman. Yes, I'm sure that they don't need to be cleaned after every trip to the range. Yes, I know they'll work just fine even when dirty. But knowing that my weapons are properly cleaned just makes me feel better.
