    When Home Security Breaks Down

Hartman: Jesus H. Christ. Private Pyle! WHY is your footlocker unlocked? Lawrence: Sir, I don't know, sir! Hartman: Private Pyle, if there is one thing in this world that I hate, it is a unlocked footlocker, you know that, don't you?! Lawrence: Sir, yes, sir! ********** In all seriousness...

    Revolver pocket carry

Posters frequently discuss the overall draw speed of pocket carry… I remain firm nothing is easier for a walk-the-little-family-dog carry in wintertime. One can hold leash with weak hand and strong hand in the coat pocket. An alert person can maintain same outward appearance in the...

Anyone else find they were more sensitive to recoil after losing weight?

Much of it likely depends on starting weight and ending weight plus duration involved. For example, a 400-lb shooter reducing himself to a 300-lb shooter will not notice much. A 200-lb shooter dieting down to his or her 100-lb middle school bodyweight will notice.

    Gaston Glock RIP

Condolences to the family and friends of Gaston Glock. He was clearly a pioneering inventor and great salesman.

Is SIG not making .40 cal pistols anymore?

Glock has the G27 for those interested in a stout little .40 S&W model.

Is SIG not making .40 cal pistols anymore?

People frequently post about the demise of .40 S&W yet there are way too many enthusiasts already heavily invested for it to go away. There are millions of firearms in that caliber floating around. There will eventually be more.

    Full Immunity

Considering one of the flavors of Benchmade Full Immunity either in manual, assisted-opening, or automatic. I like green, FDE, and blue anodized scales fairly equally. I like that it is easy to see the tip for small chores. Any real-world opinions from THR folks?

Really Happened How Would You Respond?

If that Guy# 2 were clever he would have selected shirt/vest/jacket that would have made inadvertent weapon flashing impossible. Even if he did that newbie "gun touching" it still would have been covered by the proper garment.

Really Happened How Would You Respond?

OP has shared he resides in an apartment/condo/townhouse complex. If neighbor is lawfully wearing a concealed firearm he has a responsibility to keep it concealed. That is also just good manners, too.

Really Happened How Would You Respond?

The new neighbor Guy# 2 had a distinct responsibility to keep his firearm and holster concealed in this scenario.

    Backpacking with a Firearm

The Wilderness Safepacker is a pretty versatile piece of kit. It does not scream GUN! quite like some of the other packs.

    Backpacking with a Firearm

My only wish is the Hill People Gear factory would mount their logo less obtrusively and out of sight.

    Backpacking with a Firearm

This thread has S&W 340PD written all over it. Light as a feather in scandium and titanium…yet rated for .38 Special and .357 Magnum. Substantial recoil and very expensive, yet just the ticket for the hiking OP described.

If you can get to a gun you can get to a phone.

In a genuinely up-against-it-genuinely-bad situation I wonder about the fine motor skills needed to get Face ID to work to unlock the phone or ability to remember depressing the lock button in rapid succession makes a 9-1-1 call? My sense is that any victims need a brief lull, even 5-10 seconds...

Flash Mob, How Do You React?

I totally get what you are saying, along with the additional thoughtful comments by other THR'ers suggesting refuge at loading docks, kitchens, and offices. I also concur that reflexively racing outdoors might inadvertently put one into the even GREATER chaos of the parking lot where crazed...

    Defense Against Home Invasion--And More

I intend to watch video in entirety. Like all his content I am sure it will indeed be interesting. One aspect of defense that I have always considered is that even if I absolutely and 100% know the nature of the threat beyond a securely closed and locked door…shooting holes through it radically...

You Are the Target in a Home Invasion Scenario. Which Defensive Weapon Do You Reach For First?

I know of two absolutely horrific home invasions where I personally knew all the victims. In both instances the people were 100% law-abiding without so much as a parking ticket. In the first one…the resident was unaware they were being stalked and murdered. The killer was caught and is...
