    RWS 89 - OK?

I have a Smith & Wesson 1500 Deluxe that would be the same as that rifle. It is incredibly accurate and smooth. Given that you will have to put a new scope on it, I wouldn't give more than about $400 for it.

    Dad's Old .270 Lives Again

When I was 16, my dad passed down to me his S&W 1500, made by Howa, in .270 Win. It had a Redfield, Widefield Illuminator that I thought was the best scope ever. It also looks to be some sort of deluxe model with nice walnut and deep gloss blue. Before being bitten by the precision shooting and...

300 Win Mag at 30-06 levels

I like to push 165gr bullets out of my 30-06 at around 2750fps for deer hunting. If you look around on Hodgdon's online reloading guide, there are a couple of starting loads in 300 Win Mag for 165gr and 168gr bullets close to that velocity using Varget and H380. Don't forget about 300 WSM too.

    m70 scope mounts

For best access, the Talley Lightweights are excellent. For one piece mount, I prefer the DNZ Game Reapers.

    Alternate Full Length Sizing Technique

For my bolt action bench rifles, I have always preferred the accuracy and concentricity that I get neck from sizing with a Lee Collet die on fire-formed brass. However, I prefer to full-length size the brass on my bolt action hunting rifles for the most reliable feeding. I heard about an...

    New scope for 25/06

I have optics from a lot of manufacturers, but my favorite lately has been the Leupold VX-R. The optics are great and the red dot reticle is outstanding.

    Model 70 EW SS (Portugal)

My Montana rifle is an American Standard in Walnut. .280 is not a popular caliber around here, so I have shot handloads exclusively. It has not been picky, as it will shoot 0.5" groups with GameKings, Hornady Interlocks and Speer Hot Cors. The only mild complaint I have is that it is heavy...

    Model 70 EW SS (Portugal)

I have both a Made-In-Portugal Model 70 (7mm-08) and a Montana American Standard Rifle (.280 Rem). Both have a great fit/finish and are extremely accurate. I would recommend the one you can get the best deal on.

With the accuracy that you are currently getting, I'd leave it alone.

I'm in the minority - I do not like the roller handles.

    Thoughts on Leupold VX-2 1-4x20?

    Good explanation, thanks.

    Thoughts on Leupold VX-2 1-4x20?

Wouldn't a 1-4x20 scope have an exit pupil of 20 at 1 power and 5 at the 4 power?

    Konus spotting scope opinions

I considered the Konus when I bought a spotting scope. I ended up with this Redfield and couldn't be happier. It is imported, but backed by the Redfield/Leupold lifetime warranty...

    Recommnded Gun Lubricants?

I recently began using Gunzilla and I am sold on it. It cleans better than Breakfree CLP and is non toxic. For oil, I like Slip 2000 EWL.

    Best handgun you ever fired?

I have put thousands of rounds through both mine and my dad's Ruger MKII. They are extremely accurate, have a good trigger and are just plain fun.

Which is the most ugly semi auto?

I personally think the Ruger P90 is ugly. I should know, I've had one for about 15 years. I shoot it well, it is dead reliable and I love it to death. But, it sure is ugly.

    Striker Convert

I tried my best to find a PPQ before buying the Springfield. My local LGS said that they sell them as soon as they get them. I'm just not patient enough to put a deposit down and wait.
