Nice but shipping is usually expensive on ammo due to the weight. Picked up 5 50rd boxes of winchester 230gr. at the last gun show for $15 each. Don't find that too often but when I do I snag it quick. It's usually $20ish a box.
The 2nd amendment says nothing about needing/asking the governments permission to excercise the right to keep and bear arms.
So who is actually breaking the law?
I've always been a fan of iron sights. My philosophy is if you can shoot good with irons you'll be great with optics.
However the basics/technique is what matters most with either. Easy trigger pull(don't jerk it)hold your breath 3 seconds then fire and don't flinch(this is the most difficult...
My son got one for christmas last year. We use the hodgden triple 7 50/50(black box)powder pellets. 2(100grains)per load.

With the power belt aero tip 245 grain bullets we achieved 1" groups at 50yds. Didn't try 100yds.
These bullets are also...
You could probaly trade your JLG stock for a decent EMcF but and EMcF in that condition might run $600.
I have a few parts that you'll need if/when you decide to correct your rifle.
As you stated to me the barrel is the biggest thing followed closely by the stock.
Here's a pic of my EMcF...
From the serial number.
I have a 1.77 SA with the correct 7-43 barrel ME 1.5 that I'm just about done correcting.
SA/EMcF stock
-6 uncut OP rod
type 2 lock bar
short fork follower rod
SA-12 bolt heat lot W10-B
single slot gas lock screw
trigger group is -12 housing
-5 hammer
-9...
Nice pics and sweet rifle.
What's it worth
2 cans ammo + bayonet = $300
JLG stock is early post WWII but very nice maybe $300 but the correct stock for that rifle is SA/EMcF
Rifle with correct barrel, type 2 lock bars but it really depends on the muzzle reading. Either way if you had $600 in...
WRA parts are expensive to say the least. Since yours doesn't have the original barrel it really isn't worth making it correct unless you have the tools/tooling to change the barrel.
trigger group for $100 is cheap if it's 100% WRA.
Check your stock where the trigger guard locks in, Is it a V...
I'd like to see some pics too. Orlando is very knowledgeable with Garands.
Here's a site with some general info on Garand parts.
On the left are more catogories but this site doesn't cover all parts info.

Now here's a man with some common sense and knowledge/appreciation of the Garand.
I couldn't of put it better myself but I must admit I got caught up in the non-senual drivel.
Beware though you may be hung out to dry because of you appreciation of the M1.
But not by me...
