    9422 vs 39a

It was a "goal" before CAS. The 1894 mechanism and the 9422 in particular are "smoother" in feel - to complete a cycle. I think this was by design.

    9422 vs 39a

I will say my 9422XTR is smoother. I will say it's marginally more accurate for me. It's the first rifle I ever bought. ca 1986. I mean I knew I was buying a lever .22, Winchester. That's about it. No idea, in 2023 the action and such would be a topic of discussion on something called the...

    Magazine storage (NOT in safe)

Good ideas. I don't have room in my office for the cart unit..............well OK I have room but the aesthetics are a concern for this indoor space. The safe is a handsome brute and matches OK. Tool cabinet in color......hmmmm MAYBE Now my shop won't have an opening until I finish the shed and...

Sam Gabbert of SGAmmo on the status of Russian ammo

Not sure why, but I bought a buttload of 7.62x39 and 9x18Mak several years back when it was cheap, and while I do have guns in those calibers, I don't often take them to range. Finally I can impress people.

Sam Gabbert of SGAmmo on the status of Russian ammo

Lie? No. Maybe that is what HE sells, but I have never seen anyone shooting Russian 9mm (9x19). My friend, one time, bought some in the 2010-2011 time frame. Ended up giving it away. 9x18Mak? Sure. 7.62x39 all day long...........

Sam Gabbert of SGAmmo on the status of Russian ammo

I have never once in all my shooting years bought one round on Russian 9mm. I'm struggling with "Russians supplied 30% to 40% of the 223 Rem / 5.56 and 9mm Luger consumed at the shooting ranges across this country.........." Meh, don't believe that. Maybe 10-15%

    Magazine storage (NOT in safe)

My retirement gift from my old co was indeed a Stack-On. It contains my "ranch" rifles and shotguns, for critters and such. I neglected to mention my safe and the cabinet are full, AND I have JOBOX full of ammo and no room for magazines. Maybe I should get another cabinet. Hmm....Thanks!

    Magazine storage (NOT in safe)

We just moved and I am getting way more organized than I was before I retired. I have a healthy amount of magazines for each mag fed gun. I have a healthy number of firearms. Which means a lot of magazines that are coming with to the range, getting wiped down, stored for a day, a month, week or...

Some of the guns that I have restored/reblued

6 or so years ago I met him in the parking lot of a local indoor range, he had the gun a week or so, I don't remember the exact elapsed time.
