Hello all.
I am building an AR pistol using RRA LAR15 Stripped Lower (on 4473 as a pistol) and RRA single stage LPK with Star safety. I am asking for you help as I lost my favorites where i had a list of stores to buy stuff from when i had to reformat my PC. whats your favortie place to shop...
And for everyone saying they dont want to pay for extra options I am not saying that all factory guns have them just make it an option very few have that option.
Right now in order to get night sights you need to purchase the sights $75-$100 and a sight pusher which is another $75-$100 thats...
Although the handgun is a last ditch weapon should the need arise for force I will not be wasting my time with mace and stun guns.
I want every advantage I can get in that situation and the better I can see my sights the better chance I have of making a hit.
Green front yellow rear put...
I understand they dont last forever and in total darkness will be a bit useless.
However in low light situations that can be recreated through out your house I have found there are times when you can see the "target" yet the sights are just a black blob when switching to night sights the...
Lets face it we buy guns with defense in mind and not knowing when you may need it you would think more manufacturers would offer them from the factory. Yet I never see New guns in stores with that as an option, only the used guns have them.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I really do like the pistol its nice to have a "presentation" version of what the GI's carried more or less and it has been flawless for several hundred rounds. Its just not as practical for me with the sights it has.
I would love to keep it however the Ruger...
If only I had known the difference before buying I could have saved my self a lot of trouble.
I didnt realize the GI sights were so much different and that "drop in" parts for the 1911 are far from drop in. Lesson learned.
Thats not a bad idea. I will call and ask them what it would cost to have it upgraded to the "tactical" model which includes Novak style sights and a commander hammer with beavertail grip safety.. Aside from the sights I get some hammer bite from the standard hammer and gripsafety.
I tried...
I have read that replacing a pinned front sight is hit or miss on the front sight staying in even if a good smith replaces it then there is the matter of trying to find out if you have the big or small front sight post as there are 2 different sizes. And having it cut for Novak sights is like...
Hmmm seems I would be better off keeping the RIA. Maybe I will just walk around with it and see if I get an offer in the 300 to 350 range.
Its a great shooter the sights just pain old suck though. I wish I would have known better when shopping for my 1911. Got stuck with the crappy GI sights...
Not quite. They say if you decide to carry a different gun they will trade your old kydex for kydex that will fit your new gun.
That being said they do sell extra kydex shells so you could buy multiple shells and one leather backing.
Even though I already have a Foxx brand holster that...
Indeed. I made it back home safe and sound today firearm intact with no hassle. Used a Stack on Portable Security case. It comes with a cable that I used to anchor it to my luggage. I put my Taurus PT111 in it along with two 20 round boxes of JHP, one 17 round mag and one 12 round mag in the...
Its reliable, inexpensive and effective. Any gun I carry must meet those three criteria.
Since the gun will be taken after a DGU then I refuse to carry an expensive (anything over 300$) gun. So my Smith and Wesson SD and sometimes my TaurusPT111 PRO fits the bill
