I have no connection to ether one
Id like to see the blown bolt and ask if any thing was found in the action. Mossberg should be happy to pay the cost of care for such an injury. As a gun maker I would be.
As a gun smith it should be possible to get new pins and test them for hardness and re temper if needed. The bolt could...
No the firing pin just sits in the bolt.
If it does not go bang a complete cleaning is the firs step.
If dirt does not allow the bolt to close ALL THE WAY it will not fire.
even if it look closed.
clean then trouble shoot.
I have three actions that if I had access to a mill and lath would work on.
You can easily convert one to 225 Winchester 30-40 or 375 JDJ a well a 45-70.
Some thing to think about if you want smaller then 45-70 is what you want to hunt?
Getting a stock my be harder then fitting up the...
Elk round
A guide told me if you hit a bull elk with over 1500 Foot pounds that elk is yours. So 308 and up I think the first thing to get is a stock that fits you.
Then get the chambering that fits the game your hunting.
Relining the barrel is the best fix for what you describe.
It will give you gun a new rifling setup that will handle copper jackets.
Some older barrels will shoot lead but not copper very well.
sometime a lead bullet that's 2 or 3 thou oversize will shoot better.
I don't know any one that...
Barrel fix
It would be easy to shorten the barrel to just behind the screw hole.
Then give it a a recessed target crown. Then mill a new screw hole, a quick sad and reblue.
As barrels heat up thy get longer!
This will pull the point of impact up or down.
I have an 1891 Mauser that walks down up to a foot but less then 1 inch side to side.
Make sure the stock does not rub agent the HOT barrel.

Auto guns dent cases
This sounds like the case is hitting the bolt handle, the rear edge or the top of the ejection port.
Next time you shoot the gun put a small dab of white grease on the tip of the bolt handle, If the cases are hitting and being dented it will show on the case right at the...
Look for a 30-30 barrel and re-chamber that to 303.
A 303 will over cut a 7.62x39 chamber but many have .300 bore and 308 groove barrels. My Ruger 77 has a 308 groove barrel and some fired cases are hard to extract so a 303 my have to be 308 bullet reloads.
There is a rubber Slip on recoil pad that works very well
Also ware a shotgun shooting vest at the range or two or three layers of shirt and jackit when shooting.

look for a gunsmithing school
A gunsmithing school might have a student to work on these but make sure you can get them back.
