S&W and Ruger give up on selling semis in California

Did anybody else notice how the article says microstamping is patented? That means for every single handgun sold in CA under this law, the company that owns the patent will get a paycheck. I'd be surprised if none of the legislators have an investment in that company.

    Is my load fast enough?

Good advice, thanks guys. I inspect brass for obvious signs of failure, but need to become more familiar with the more subtle ones like you describe. I'm going to test these loads at 300 yards this weekend and see how they do.

    Is my load fast enough?

Max for my rifle would be when I start to see evidence of case failure?

    Is my load fast enough?

I want to, but can't pony up for the hazmat fee of buying online or justify driving to another city. In the next few weeks I should be going out of town and there's a reloading store pretty close to where I'm going.

    Is my load fast enough?

I just started reloading and am trying to make a .223 load that will get me our to 600 yards accurately. The only suitable powder I was able to find locally was IMR-4895 and I'm using 69gr SMK bullets with LC brass. The rifle is a Mossberg MVP, 18" 1:9 barrel. I worked loads from 22.5 to...

    "Mid-Range and F-Class Rifle Match"

Of the two ranges I'm looking at, one maxes out at 300 and the other at 600. I've been googling and can find plenty about midrange f-class, but nothing about the distinction. I would have started to think they were one in the same except I've seen the results listed separately.

    "Mid-Range and F-Class Rifle Match"

There are several ranges around me that offer "Mid-Range and F-Class Rifle" matches. I'm hoping someone can clarify the difference between these two classes. I'm figuring it's something to do with the rifles allowed but that's about all I know. Thanks

    Nope, they're all 115gr 9mm.

    Dealing with different handgun loads

They're stock XD sights, so just driftable left and right. I'd like to reload but really don't have the space for it in my apartment. I had considered bolting a press to a piece of board and clamping it down, but I'm not sure if my desk is stable enough and the kitchen table definitely isn't.

    Dealing with different handgun loads

I'm just starting to get serious about shooting better, and I've run into a problem with switching between different cartridges. The Fiocchi stuff I've been shooting lately is dead-on while other brands will shoot high for me, presumably because they are loaded hotter. It's not a huge deal when...

    Price for a Ruger MK2?

I don't know the models well enough to identify it, but it doesn't have the bull barrel.

    Price for a Ruger MK2?

I found an old Ruger MK2 at a pawn shop and they're asking $150 out the door for it. I didn't examine it too closely but it's in fair to good condition. What sticks out most is a decent amount of pitting on the rear end of the slide. Is that price about right? Thanks

    Keypad Safe Backup Keys

I recognize that it's not going to stop somebody who really wants what I've got, but what I've got also doesn't justify spending a thousand plus dollars on a safe. I need something better than chaining them to my bed that can fit inside my apartment closet. If a smash and grab robber doesn't...

    Keypad Safe Backup Keys

I'm looking at purchasing a stack-on gunsafe with an electronic keypad. My only concern is the backup key. Watching this video at 1:55 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCftv7oAP9c&feature=plcp It appears that the backup key is just a generic key and not necessarily one that is unique to the...

Thanks for all the help! I'll be sure to take more pictures and collect all the info for that thread next time I visit.

Any info on my Grandfathers Revolver?

My late grandfather left this revolver to my father from when he was in the Army during WWII. We don't know really know anything about it, though, so I was hoping somebody could help identify it. It's a 32 long and the timing is bad. Along the barrel it says, "FOR 32 WINCHESTER CTGS" and along...
