My suggestion is to educate yourself on External Ballistics. The Hornady 9th Edition is good place to start.

Scope rings are available in different heights. Do you know what size your rings are? If you have the minimum ring height, you could always add a cheek riser to your stock. When I served, it was commonplace to tape a piece of foam PT mat with rigors tape to the stock. Good luck

If the scope mount screws are loose, your zero is already off. If you can easily tighten them, I wouldn't be surprised if your zero changes. I'd suggest tightening them with an inch-pound torque driver. Reestablish your zero then use loctite and reconfirm again. I've good success with a...
