    Baby Rolling Block!

357 You might keep your eye out for an older version. My Uberti 357 and 22 look like twins. Same perch belly stock and fore end. Not sure why they changed it.

    Baby Rolling Block!

357 I have the Uberti model I picked up used. Great fun gun. I download 38 specials to introduce new shooters and hot load magnums for fun. I added a peep sight and it is accurate enough for my purposes. Only thing I did not like was the trigger pull was way too heavy. I adjusted mine by...

    Ammo bought from shady lgs

Could be a mix up at the factory that was later sold at a deep discount. They may have these boxes as they were cheaper to get a hold of and sell at factory retail.

    buckled brass

I have run into this problem in the past. If they chamber, I would shoot them. Every case that I have had this happen to, shooting straightened the case out and allowed me to salvage it. As always, check the case to ensure there was no damage first.

    Advising pawn shop guys?

I would want to be sure it is not sold as is. Several reasons 1. New buyer could be booked with Felony charges. 2. With the wrong serial number recorded, the gun could be stolen (another charge on the buyer.) 3. Any shop selling illegal guns is more fodder for the gun control crowd. If you...

free 525 pack of rem 22lr

Guess I am missing it, can anyone point me to the rebate form for this? I am picking up a Marlin from my LGS today.

Ruger Single Seven Cylinder Latch loose

Talked to Ruger, it has been boxed and is headed back their way for repair.

Ruger Single Seven Cylinder Latch loose

I got my new Ruger Single Seven 327 and have noticed that the cylinder can rotate about 1/4" counter clockwise when the hammer is down. When the hammer is back, it locks up tight. It looks like the cylinder latch is not coming up high enough to catch when the hammer is down. None of my other...

    357

I have a Rossi 357, 16" stainless. They are rougher out of the box than a Winchester or Marlin (have those too.) I sat down with mine and just worked the lever for 1/2 hour while watching tv. Made a big difference. Also had to polish the feed gate as it was rough. These are work guns more so...

    4 5/8 Single Seven

Picked it up and shot it this evening. Shot and handled nice. No concerns with fit and finish. Only thing I did not like is that loading and unloading occurs in between the click position (not sure how to best describe it) On my blackhawks and SS's you rotate, hear the click, then load. This one...

Youth 22's suggestions, specials or rebates?

Savage Rascals are what my boys learned on. Teaching shooting sports to youngsters, I have found that the peep sight goes a long way in helping learn to shoot. The Rascal is fairly inexpensive to get into and built for a youngster. They will outgrow it, but it is the right size tool for them to...

    4 5/8 Single Seven

My LGS called and said mine is in. I pick it up Monday.

    Lever Gun in 357 Magnum

I own both. My Rossi is a 16" stainless. First, both shoot well and hit what I am aiming at and I would not have any concerns hunting with either. The Marlin was better out of the box and is more refined in the fit and finish departments. If money was not a concern, I would choose the Marlin. If...

Looking for a 44 magnum bullet

Missouri Bullet Company offers a coated or non-coated 240g with brinell of 18. Should be able to push these pretty hard. Montana Gold Bullets offers 240 jacketed soft points in bulk.

What should be a child first rifle, and right age

I teach shooting sports for Cub Scouts. Here are a few suggestions I have. 1. As stated be comfortable with the maturity level of your child. We have Tigers come in as young as 6. I started mine around age 4, but they were raised around guns. Very closely supervised bench shooting, then move up...

    dogtown dilemma

I have shot my share of prairie dogs and would recommend a heavy barrel in 223, 22/250 or 220 swift with light weight bullets. Need to do your homework and find out what the layout is. If you are shooting near cattle or people do not take the big caliber guns (243.) If you are going on a paid...

    Am I Partly to Blame?

Hi, my names Justin, and I am a hoard-o-holic. After being caught short years ago, I now buy when the prices are right and stock it away. I am not currently in need, but if I find something for a good price, I still will buy it. Reloading components have a very good shelf life. I also find that...

    Best finish for a revolver

My first handgun was a 4" stainless GP. 20 years later, it is still my favorite. I can leave it in a holster, throw it in the truck, and ignore it when I put it back in the safe. Very low maintenance. Other than a few scratches, looks as good as new.

    Youth rifles - suggestions?

I chose Rascals for my boys because they come with a peep sight. Much easier to teach sight acquisition with it.
