One-Of-A-Kind World War II Hero Dies

I think the "one of a kind" comment just implies not many folks of that ilk are around.....lighten up guys! Now I think it ALSO means..looking at the youth of today...you'd be hard pressed to find very many kids today who could do the same. I'm NOT including those who VOLUNTARILY have seved...

The rifle I learned to shoot with. (DONT LAUGH!)

I have a Remington Single shot with no number either. Leave it be. Someday, in a world where everything, including PEOPLE today have a darned number, the fact it DOESN'T may mean something! Put an indentifying mark in an obscure place, under the receiver in the stock, for instance.

    Wal-Mart Ruger 10/22 question

Hey!! You didn't see me in thier "cheering" section!! My only comment was on how Legally STUPID it would be for them to do so. As big a cash cow as they are..a real sharp lawyer could rip some REAL bucks here. All he'd need is some PROOF!!! So, how much money did YOU get when you sued?!?!?! :D...

    Wal-Mart Ruger 10/22 question

I find Wal-Mart to be a pain at times too....but do you really think Ruger, Remington, Mossberg, Winchester, Savage, And all the other gun makers would want both the bad rep, and Warranty returns by intentionally selling KNOWN JUNK guns, not to mention the possibility of liability lawsuits by...

    Enfield in .308 Win?

I've read this before, about not using commercial .308 in a 7.62 nato chambered gun. I see the reasons why in the guns listed and tested. Mine is a 1912 Steyr built mauser (98 style large ring receiver). Was re-chanbered to 7.62 nato in 1961 by Israel. Given how STRONG everyone claims the Mauser...

30-06 compared 30-30 compared to 20 Gauge recoil.

Guy B. Meredith....I have a 1912 Steyr built Mauser...originally chilean, then Israeli..converted by them to .308. It shoots great...And i'm not a recoil fan at all!! Can get quarter sized groups at 50 yds with ease with surplus nato ammo.......recoil isn't a big deal. Just curious.....was yours...

    Wal-Mart Ruger 10/22 question

So they build a gun..shoot it..and if it's not "accurate enough", they disassemble it and put the barrel in bin to be re-assembled again into another gun for wal-mart. Hmmm. How else do you know which barrel shoots straight? Smells like an "urban legend".......

    Norinco SKS price check

How "good" are those Norinco SKS's?? MY bro in law saw one he wanted and asked me. I don't know squat about em!!! I've heard as far as realiable..they're on par with the AK's.....how about accuracy etc?? Is 200 a fair price?

New firearms technology- good or bad?

Uberti does top quality stuff. Have both a 1858 Remington and a 1873 SAA colt copy and both are well fitted, finish is great.....and that SAA in .357 is the gun I hit best with!! Accurate little bugger! I carry a CZ75.....but do better with the six shooter! !
