Supporting a revolver vs an auto loader

Thanks Craig. I see your a fellow Tennessean Im a little east of Murfreesboro. I'll try your approach and get off the butt. Right now I'm working up loads for my Glock 34. I'll rest about mid frame under the barrel favoring closer to the trigger guard and forearms on a bag.

Supporting a revolver vs an auto loader

A little different kind of question about shooting from a bench with a handgun. I have fired revolvers from a rest supporting below the barrel and beneath the grip and my result were consistent. Recently I have had problems when I do the same with my Glock or Ruger (i dont recall issues with...

    9x19 equivilant?

Great feedback. I'm a clean after firing sessions believer and can't imagine going so long as to lead foul a barrel. It would be good to have a 2nd barrel for backyard shooting though. Thank's ya'll

    9x19 equivilant?

I'm considering a Glock 34 in 9x19 and it will be the first 9mm I have owned. I see many different descriptions in 9mm. Where does the 9x19 fall in line. When looking for brass in Midway I saw nothing described as such. What would I use? 2nd question. I have cast .45 bullets for my 1911's but...

When cleaning your stainless revolver how do you rid the face of the cylinder of the scorch left after firing? I try to wipe with #9 after each reload when i go to clean I plug the chamber and then I scrub using magic eraser and #9 but its a pain though it works and doesn't score or burnish...

    Ruger P345

Ive been shooting one belonging to my neighbor. We're back at 35yds on a bench using 230 gr LSWC's 5.1 gr's of Unique, cci300 primers, moderate taper crimp. The loads over my chrony are showing an avg vel of 780 a SD of 8.12 (4 subs of 8) so the loads are consistent, just not grouping very well...

    Glock Model 21

Once long ago I read that the Glock for whatever reason shouldn't be shot with cast i.c LSWC that it wasn't rifled to shoot it. Is there anything about this that you can comment on? I have a friend who wants to buy one and he likes to cast and reload. Is there a barrel that can be used in the...

Need advice for .45ACP 1911 Purchase

My (Defender) love it, it almost aims itself. My Kimber is without fault, point shoot very boring, love it. Would love to test an Ed. (1) Kimber (2) Defender or (1) Defender )2) Kimber I worked up a Charles Daley a few years ago that turned into a very fine shooting gun, I actually...

What are some of the cheap(er) 22 pistols that work well?

I enjoy the Buckmark Varmiter though it is sensitive to the ammo that shoots with the tightest groups. When the ammo selection is determined its a great gun. Im not sure where you will find one under $300. Check out Gunbroker and most are running between $300 and $400 on up to $800 I did see a...

    W231 Ball "appearance"

Great feedback and I appreciate the history lesson regarding the transition. Ive been off the reloading bench for a while and my neighbor is just getting into it. I was showing him some of my powders and the geometry of the different powders became part of the discussion, metering, static...
