My humble suggestion would be try to find a used WInchester Model 12. Absolutely fantastic pieces of machinery. Hand fitted machined steel and smooth as glass.

Which 9mm Has the Best Trigger?

What kind of poll choices are those? Most listed have horrendously poor triggers or are acceptable at the most in stock form. SIG 210 is my choice.

Who makes the best EXTERNAL extractor 1911?

S&W utilize the Schwartz safety system and have had numerous problems with their external extractor. Those who are so quick to point out their greatness need to learn a bit more of 1911's. Hilton Yam amongst a great deal many others will tell you that the S&W is NOT the ideal external...

    Sig P250 vs FNP 9

HK p30 - if you don't mind the DA/SA trigger system, this gun IMHO and first hand experience is bar none the finest made 9mm semi auto available. I'm extremely jealous that a family member has one but I as of this posting, do not.

Is Kimber having quality issues lately?

I've been hearing this for the past 3 years, I don't think its really of all that recent. It seems that Kimber decided to skip the QC inpection part and just release items onto the buyer.

LNIB Sig With Rusty Slide That Eats Frame!

That hole with the more wear than usual is where the pin to ejector is correct? Throw some FP10 or weaponshield on it and call it good.

    Which 1911 to buy

For Sigs the early "manhole cover" ones are the ones to primarily avoid, although there are those who swear by theirs as well. As for the revised current edition, any serial number 7k and above. I absolutely love my Sig 1911. As a comparison to another 1911 I own (Springfield 1911A1 Loaded...

    Old question, I know. 9mm or 45ACP

9mm or .45acp will both serve your purpose just fine. Shoot one of each and make your decision from there. As for .40S&W, if you enjoy muzzle flip, try one of those as well. I own several firearms in all three. Out of the three I enjoy .45acp most, followed by 9mm, my .40S&Ws do not get shot...

    M9 vs 1911

I never claimed to be Spec Ops nor related in anyway. I can tell you from first hand personal experience of being fwd deployed and seeing Spec Ops members almost on a daily basis, that I had never not once seen any of them with a 1911. Take from that what you will, if you choose to remain...

    M9 vs 1911

In 6 years ( with 1 1/2 in the sandbox) I have never ever seen a 1911 .45acp carried by any of the spec ops guys. I have seen Sigs, Berettas, and yes even a few Glocks.

    Which 1911 to buy

Between my Sig TTT and my Kimber TLE, there is no comparison. The Sig is a much finer made pistol. If you head over to any 1911 forum, you will see that while SIGs have been improving in their products, the same can not be said of Kimber sadly. Either one I would trust my life to, but the Sig...

    M9 vs 1911

This is the correct answer. As for what I prefer? I own both. I like both for very different reasons. I love my 1911's because of the historical significance.

    what is my 1911 worth?

Springfield Loaded? 4 years old and traded barrel? Look to get about $500 for it. The box should have the model number on the tag. FWIW I bought my Springfield Loaded SS brand new for $640

1911 Advice Needed. The same old... But Different.

Is your Dad looking to add another son to family? I can already feed and bath myself, very low maintenance. FWIW I like the idea of a Colt WW1 Reproduction. I'm not sure though just how much shooting you would actually do with it though. Its just too nice for a daily carry or shooter. You...
