    New reloaders.....

I just got my neighbor interested. He's been laughing at me telling me it wasn't worth it with cheap ammo. Ive mostly been able to maintain at least a 50% discount to any caliber I reload for and more for than that for some. I was loading up some 30-30 for deer season as the batch I made a few...

Observations of 2 different Beam Scales

Wow been a long time since I've been here. Haven't reloaded much in 3 years. Infact I haven't shot in a year... I'm out of loads for deer season this year so I'm getting ready load up some 270, 30-30 and 223. There are 3 of us hunting. Anyway Wife and kid are at a concert tonight so I...

    Mossberg 9200 -- recoil

I cleaned it the other day and oiled with synthetic. The shells I used were pretty dirty from the looks of it.

    Mossberg 9200 -- recoil

OK I was wrong. This thing actually doesn't kick too bad, probably less than or similar to my pumps. I must not have put it in my should decent Monday. I dumped 75 rounds of duck and trap loads through it in about 10 minutes. Then Wednesday was all duck loads with a bruised shoulder. Put...

    Mossberg 9200 -- recoil

I'll shoot it more this weekend. I do know the but pad is hard as a rock. Bad design. Scheels had a limb saver for a 9200 tonight but it didn't fit so I returned it. Looks like it needs the regular one for a 500. I checked tonight it's the same as my 500's. Of corse no one carries those locally...

    Mossberg 9200 -- recoil

What do you mean by fit issue? I could be way off too. I didn't shoot it a lot yet. I'll put a couple hundred through it Saturday shooting with a friend so I will know for sure then and can compare it better. As far as recoil pad yea the one on it is hard and I've been contemplating replacing it.

    Mossberg 9200 -- recoil

Anyone here ever owned or shot one of these things? Picked up a nice one in trade this weekend. Shoots great and functions. Doesn't seem to be a jam-o-matic lien these seem to be. Anyway this thing is pretty harsh on the shoulder compared to my 500's. Seems to be anyway. I put maybe 60-70...

I was excited until I got home

Well I called today and they had to do a call back as they were too busy. I was straight up honest with them and said I bought it used and it was missing the pan. They just asked for my address. I asked how much and they said they were inbetween systems and couldn't charge me! Sweeet...

I was excited until I got home

Found a great deal on a used RCBS 5-0-5 scale, 25 bucks. Got it home set it down it doesn't zero. Looked it up online only to realize it's missing the pan. Dang it! Oh well, lesson learned. The sell doesn't have it either. MY fault lesson learned. Still not a bad deal though. Excited to...

    Winchester Ammunition Customer Service

Dealt with Winchester 3 different times. Twice for pistol ammo. One set was corroded and the other i can't remember. Both times they send me a new box of ammo. The last time a friend bought a brand new Rem 700 in 300 win mag. He bought a box of Winchester 300 win mag ammo. First shot it...

A couple of budget 9mm reviews

How can you review these guns and say buy or don't buy if you bought them used? Buying a used gun is a crap shoot. You have no idea what the other guy did or if he got a factory dud which does happen.

    Just ordered an XD9sc

Why are they not more popular? Hard telling, however I was going to buy one one time. I ended up with the ruger sr9c. The xd is Litterally a brick. Even looks like a Tetris brick but weigs as much as one. The ruger and m&p are both more egonimic and at the time less expensive. Other guns have...

    Reloading on a budget

IMO a lee kit as it will have nearly everything you need except a decent deburring/champfering tool and no caliber and no dies. 2-300 ish will get you started realistically. You'll need: Press Dies Brass trimmer caliper scale debur/champfer tool book/load data Some way to prime either on or...

    FS M&P Barrel swaps

From what I've read since purchasing a 9c a month ago is that yes you can drop a 9mm barrel into a 40 and even use the 40 mags! Obviously I have no way of testing this. The triggers are not improved, unless you go with a pro, However Apex makes great drop in parts and you can replace the whole...

Thinking of loading up some 45 in lead

Thanks guys! a I was planning on going with a 230 grn rn. I shoot an xd and a 1911. The XD hates wad cutters, fairly well known issue. I could see myself going down to a 200grn, maybe but nothing less than that. Maybe I'll pick me up 500 or so next pay day and test the waters a little. I...

Thinking of loading up some 45 in lead

And I'm nervous. No I haven't bought anything yet and yes I have reloaded 45. Not a TON, maybe 1500 -2000 or so. I've done a few thousand 9mm and maybe 1000 of 40 and have been reloading for 2 years. Why am I nervous? I don't know the fear of the unknown. I load lead for 44 mag and...

    Just ordered an XD9sc

I shot one one time at the range. The guy next to me had one. Minimal recail and an excellent shooting gun. I wouldn't mind having one.
