    Grand Power P1 MK7

k100 compact These are one of the best kept secrets in the european handgun market. I own several K100 full size pistols and an STI GP6. They shoot as well as my CZ75 and are very well constructed and reliable. Rotating barrel system is pretty cool but takedown is akward.

    Fair Price for Mini 14?

A fair price for a used mini is about $500, that's for a gun that at least shoots straight though.

    CZ 75 C modifications/improvements?

Cz 75 I agree with most other posts here. The CZ 75 is solid right out of the box. True, the factory night sights are dim, but the grips feel great and there's no replacement for good old fashioned trigger time ! I have worked my sear down to a crisp sub 5lb pull in SA mode and I love it...

    40 s&w and panic buying

One of my first pistols was a sigma 40ve. I shot it well but always hated the excessive recoil. I sold it within a year or two of owning it and have never looked back. Now, I reload for 8 different calibers and have zero desire to get back into the 40 s&w market. There's nothing a 40 can do...

New to me FEG Hi Power

FEG HP clone That's a good buy at that price. I bought a refinished one about 2 years ago for $275. It already had the mag safety removed and had a lighter trigger than my actual MKIII hi power. Most folks don't know that FEG actually started producing these just after the patent expired on the...

    Reload but do not chronograph?

Chronographs and reloading I spent a year reloading for a few cartridges the old fashioned way, without a chronograph. Since I bought one, I can't imagine being without it. I don't really need it every time I go shoot but for load development, it is an absolute necessity. It would be like...

    45 Colt and plated bullets

plated vs lead I started off doubting the performance of plated bullets in the 45 colt. Always thinking these old guns would just shoot better with those soft lead bullets. Now, I am a firm believer in them. I have tried at least a half dozen different brands of lead projectiles, mostly in the...

    Favorite powder for .223/5.56?

AR load Damn, I think I heard an echo here.:D I also load a similar bullet(hornady 55gr SP w/cannelure) for a standard plinkin' load for my Armalite w/a 1:8 twist and 16" barrel. I typically use AA2230 because at only 24.5gr it runs the AR reliably, shoots softly, burns clean, meters well and...

    Ammo shortages

I really don't see any shortages, just panic buying. You guys need to look at the big picture. The worlds economies across the pond have been down in the dumps for a long time. More European and russian ammo and weapons will keep on flowing to the U.S. Some of these economies don't produce any...

    Favorite powder for .223/5.56?

powder for the 223 To answer your question intellegently, I would first need to know what kind of gun you are reloading for. I'm not trying to be an ass, but certain powders that are very accurate for that caliber would short stroke a bolt in an AR(H4198 comes to mind). If you are loading for a...

Just ordered a CZ 75b in stainless....

Great gun buy...not much else to say. Nice SA trigger, lengthy DA trigger but manageable. Megcar is a great choice for the aftermarket mags. I bought one back in 06' just after they started producing them. It's been rock-solid with several thousand rounds run through it.

Game Kings, SSTs, or Ballistic Tips.

Just to clarify, yes I do know the difference between an A-max and an SST. Although the SST is a sturdier bullet construction wise, they have always fragmented in the live game that I have shot(deer@150lbs, hogs up to 250lbs.). Winchester BST has been my prefered factory load for hunting in my...

    Glock 17 bullet

I'm a fan of Rainier plated bullets because I like the concave bases. Berrys are OK but don't utilize a concave base. I also load some lead bullets every once and a while but always heard it's a no-no for polygonal rifling. Of course my G19 sports a lonewolf barrel so I run them with confidence...

    Grand Power K100 MK7

I wouldn't worry too much about spare parts. These were originally imported and distributed by STI. I think grand power would help out as well. Funny, 2 weeks ago I bought 3 of them. Now JG shows only 1 left in stock. As the saying goes, "if you snooze, you lose". The GP6 also has the cooler...

Game Kings, SSTs, or Ballistic Tips.

SSTs vs Gameking I am a fan of SSTs for target or hog hunting only. Last season, I shot a hog with an A-MAX bullet. Now I know why they are not considered a hunting round. Superb accuracy but massive fragmentation and expansion. Looked like I could fit a tennis ball in the back of the hogs...

    Grand Power K100 MK7

Sti gp6 aka k100 I own both a GP6 as well as a few K100s. Aside from the marking on the slide, and magazine capacity, they are the exact same gun. These pistols are easily the best kept secret in the handgun world. If you own more than one nine, do yourself a favor, sell one and buy one of...
