Buying Reloaded Ammo At Gun Shows?

I asked a gunsmith I know " how many reloaders actually ended up blowing up a gun ?" He said it was rare, however, after every gun show, he gets one or two in that have been destroyed by the reloads bought there.....

Losing Faith in the 1911. Help

In all my years at the range, i have never seen anyone with a 1911 that didnt jam occasionaly. For whatever reason, the owners seem to accept it.

"NO RELOADS!" at new gun range... really?

scrounge some old factory ammo boxes from the trash, only bring your reloads ( fmj or JHP ) in those boxes.... they will never know the difference

    Misfire reloads

Unless there is something wrong with your gun, i would suspect you arent getting your primers seated good. I shoot almost 20,000 rounds a year, most of which are 38's:rolleyes:. I use whatever primers i can find. I havent had a misfire in years

Making a pistol as reliable as it can be

All i know is i shoot 5 - 10 thousand rounds a year from each of my XD pistols, and have never had a feed failure. I have No patience for guns that dont work. If I buy a gun, and it wont feed every factory ammo i try, I get rid of it. Period. Last one i got rid of was a Sig P250 9mm. Wouldnt...

Making a pistol as reliable as it can be

"Let me start by saying that all brands do give failures to feed etc. It is not limited to the brand Taurus that I own." Not true, I have 2 XD's , a 40 and a XD9sc. Thousands of rounds from each without a singe Failure of any kind

Does this REALLY work on Blackhawk triggers?

    That would be FUN !!!!!

Does this REALLY work on Blackhawk triggers?

I guess i wasnt clear. I think new shooters. especially, should learn to shoot, before worrying about lightening trigger pulls. They will be better in the long run because of it. Reminds me of a couple of years back, when S&W sigmas were selling for about 250 bucks. Lots of new people had them...

Does this REALLY work on Blackhawk triggers?

Yea, but in this case, we arent talking about having a professional gunsmith doing a trigger job, we are talking about someone, who may or may not know what they are doing, bending parts, taking out springs, etc. I would hate for someone to render a gun unsafe trying to do a DIY trigger job. I...

Does this REALLY work on Blackhawk triggers?

I am sure most the pros shoot modified guns. I am also pretty sure most learned on stock guns. I see these people at the range all the time, with their modified, tricked out guns, and the accompaning light strikes, jams, etc. and i can still out shoot them with any of my stock guns. I am just...

Does this REALLY work on Blackhawk triggers?

It never ceases to amaze me , the things people do to their guns in search of a "better" trigger, rather than just learning to shoot properly

    Short barrel powders

I have tested several times, results are always the same with h-110, not so much with 2400. Using 14.0 2400, compared to 8.0 PP, with a 158 JSP, the 2400 load did outperform the PP load, but it was by such a small margin, it would not be worth the extra powder / blast, and recoil. About 30 FPS...

    Short barrel powders

That simply is not always true. It depends on the powders. A max Power Pistol load will equal or surpass a Max H-110 load out of a 2' barrel. I have tested and proven this for myself.

    Load pistol without expanding

Because you only have to do it once.

    Load pistol without expanding

I found that if i put a very light chamfer on my 40 S&W brass, I can seat the bullets without expanding, and therefore not have to crimp to remove the bell. Anyone else do this ? Any bad side-effects? FYI, these are 165 Zero JHP's with 5.0 W231 @ 1.120 The rounds I tested seemed extremely...

Loaded 1,000 rounds of 9mm in one day on LCT

I actually am concerned. You guys whose main concern is how fast you can crank out the ammo are the ones that blow up guns, stick bullets in the barrel, etc, and give the rest of us a bad name.

    38spl check

This much I can tell you for sure. I have 10 different revolvers in either 38 or 357. With any given 38 load the GP100 leads worse than any of them, an old model 10 the least. 4.0 W231 doesnt lead with a swaged, but does with any of the hard cast bullets. Also, I can take that exact Missouri...

    38spl check

No , that will make the leading worse. If you want to shoot a 38 that light, go with a swaged bullet. That will eliminate the leading.
