Guns and ammo, I prefer orderly since if I'm shopping those items I'm looking for something specific. Other stuff, I'm there to poke around looking for "treasures" and a little clutter is good!
My new Ruger SR22. I usually shoot S&W Model 41s, so I didn't expect great accuracy out of a super light gun with a 3" barrel (got it for "plinking".) In the process of zeroing in a laser sight (from bench rest), it managed to shoot a 1-hole 4 round group at 25'!
I went to one in Wilmington, MA (suburban Boston) today; I agree with the OP. More knives and militaria than guns, prices were higher than at the LGS, and vendor attendance seemed lower than last year. Waste of twelve bucks!
Still, ammo was a bit more plentiful (which is a good sign) except...
I have a pair of S&W Model 41s that I use for bullseye competition. Both of them will shoot "1 hole" groups from bench rest at 50'. (Wish I could do that offhand, too!)
I also have a Ruger single ten, which is not quite as accurate, but not bad, either.
Taurus PT99 AF 9mm; 10 round mag (MA frowns on more!) Equipped with a laser sight so I can shoot accurately "from the hip" if necessary (and yes, I practice that, a lot.) Loaded with Glaser safety rounds to minimize wall penetration.
I'm from MA, retired, and newly into bullseye competition. I've got two S&W model 41s (1 ancient, 1 brand new), a Sig target 45, and a Taurus PT-99 9 mm.
