I have an old Remington 721 in .270 Winchester,made in 1949.It has a compass in the stock,and it works just fine.I've probably had it for 30 years,and never got lost while holding it.

I've had one for 20 years.Mine is a stainless Ranch rifle and I have a 4X scope on it.Don't think I have ever shot anything but Wolf in it.Works just fine with good mags,and since Ruger is now selling 20 rounders,should be good to go.By the way,it should be greased like a Garand,not oiled.

The mag will fit and function,but not lock in.The latches are different on the rifles.I you hold the mag in or duct tape it inyou could probably make it work.
