It's a stay suspending enforcement for the plantiff organization's (just like there was a personal stay for the individual plantiff in the Utah case). This kind of thing happens all the time.

Licence plate lamp out. Cop was really cool-- gave verbal warning. Turned out to be a loose connection. Asked if I had a gun on me and I said yes. I did not run down the litany of all the guns in the car. Produced a CWP even though it's not required in Arizona. Normally the "not a felon"...
My recollection is that it came significantly after during the Clinton administration. Between ~'93 and '97. It was after the assault weapon ban. My primary I FFL was my mailman :)
It's funny because when everyone and his cousin had an FFL in the late '80s and early '90s there was almost no...
No one likes the Huges amendment. Don't you think all the many more restrictions the FOPA eliminated were constitutional?
I'm not sure how much trigger time you have on machine guns but I can't imagine a close quarters situation where my SMG would be a better choice then a semi-auto mk18. I...
I would like to know if people commenting here own a machine gun (I do).
I enjoy being able to buy ammo without a form 4473. I enjoy being allowed to order ammo by mail. I enjoy being able to possess more than 5 lb of black powder at a time (50lb). I've taken advantage of the travel...
1994 or 5 I had a chance to buy a Calico Carbine for $400. Tough to turn down at the time. I bought a really nice sporterized M98 at the same gun show instead thatt I hunted with for years. I probably would have not have been happy with the Calico's actual performance but given what kind of...
I believe they were converted1919 Mausers (and the FT7 from 1893 Mausers) but technically they were re-designed in the 50s making them newer than the SKS
Mike
I bought 6. Sent a heads up to my receiving FFL and he told me he ordered a bunch too. Said they were significantly cheaper than his wholesale price direct from Anderson.

Sold a realy well milled Chinese SKS in the 90's. Was a little scared of the gun durung the Clinton years because when clean and well lubed (that was back when I still cleaned guns after every use) and using soft Rem primers it sometimes got a little exciting and you had to hold on until the...
Unless it is gain twist rifling it takes very little barrel length to impart spin. The bullet does not somehow skip the groves the first several inches.

One of the issues is that the letter of the law can make a mock-up to get an accurate OAL illegal and you sometimes have to guess. When I first got into the NFA game I included the muzzle device in OAL (funny how removable stuff on one end counts but not the other). Also I measured one shotgun...
The physics behind sectional density and long bullets is nothing new. 6.5x55 is 125 years old and a hell of a cartridge.
The only reason I don't have a 6.5mm Creedmore yet is I've been waiting to see how popular it becomes vs the .260 Rem.
Mike
PS. I own 2 6.5x55 rifles, BTW. The Swede was...
I think the ATF will also "punt" and say they can't do anything without Congress.
The law allows the ATF to do an amnesty any time they want. The '68 amnesty allowed otherwise unregisterable guns* (defaced markings and serial numbers, M16s stolen from the military, and felon owners) to be...
I used to think the same thing . . . you need all the penetration you can get with a .380. That wa until I watched a lot of gel tests. Non-HP .380 will overpenetrate. I'm a fan of the XTP althought they tend to be velocity sensitive on the expansion vs. penetration relationship.
Mike
Thanks. There is a Meprolight but I think they are the OEM supplier (without the labeling). So it looks like it is OEM or Dawson Precision (Cajun).
