I don't dry mine, I just put them back in the drum wet and leave them til the next time I use them. No issues with rust. Not worth drying in my opinion.
In the order I envision it happening, though it never works out that way.
1. Bergara Premier HMR in 6.5
2. Some sort of over under 12 ga. Leaning towards Citori
3. Smith 686 SSR
4. some sort of J frame Smith. Also looking at the Kimber K6.
5. Another 45/70, undecided but leaning towards 1885...
Very nice firearm for the money. I have a surplus 82. My only complaint is that blow back guns are a bit snappy. Check out marschalgrips.com if you want some nicer grips.
a mosin nagant and a CZ 82 would be a good start to a gun collection. A year ago, you could have easily gotten both for 300 bucks. A used S&W 357 would make a pretty awesome first gun as well.
This can happen with some of the slower powders if you don't have a heavy crimp. Like steve said, you would know if put powder in that case, since there would still be a lot of unburnt powder in there. The primer was high because there wasn't enough pressure to re-seat it into the case after...
lead and plated / jacketed data is not necessarily interchangeable. Generally a plated or jacketed bullet is going to take a little more powder to do the same thing as a lead bullet.
You can use the data for the 158 gn. Jacketed HP in the Lyman manual. I'm seeing a range of 2.8 - 3.2 gn of...
You wont really know until you shoot them, but it sounds like they will fire just fine.
4.0 grains of unique is the bare minimum I've had reliable function with my 9's. You probably could safely just jump to 4.5 and see if you want it hotter than that. I've always used the Lyman 120 gn data...
I use 4198 with the Lee 170 gn in 30-30. I do 24 gn @ 2000 fps. That's a max load in all the manuals I've seen so I haven't gone any hotter.
I use the same bullet and powder in my .30-06, 35gn @ 2400fps.
I've taken it just past 2500 fps without leading, but accuracy suffered.
That load...
I'd be looking at either a Protech or a Microtech. Also the lightning OTF is pretty decent for the money if you just want to check one out on the cheap.
I'm more of a balisong guy myself. The clickity-clacks are more entertaining than the in-outs
A cleaning rod wrapped in electrical tape for removing stuck bullets from squibs. Its rare, but it happens and it's incredibly frustrating if not prepared.
I usually have like 3 knives on me. I'm what you would call a knife addict. I don't really think of them as weapons, but I hear that they are pretty good for that type of thing. Right now I'm carrying a Benchmade 42, a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and a Case trapper. My carry gun is a Ruger SR9c.
It seems like they've improved the show quite a bit by eliminating the drama BS.
I'm still not a fan of the obstacle course crap or the grenade launcher that only a handfull of people in the world have the opportunity to shoot... I wish this was a true marksmanship competition, not who is the...
It depends on your definition of a pocket gun. Some people seem to have really big pockets. I would say the closest thing I've seen to a fun pocket gun is the Sig P238.
