My friends say I could feed a village with fish and meat for the money I've got invested in gear and time off work. Some things just can't be explained or a value put on it.
Best value for the money http://www.stack-on.com/categories/security-cabinets-gun-cabinets and places like midsouth ship for free. Easy to move when empty and loaded with guns and ammo can't be packed up. Then get one of those fireproof boxes from homedepot for your papers. I've never seen the...
Problem identified and fixed. Crimp die was set too low and basically pushing brass down. Thanks for all the input but I just had to take a step back and really "look" at the problem and all the potential factors. Carry on....
Interesting info and thanks for posting I need to check the once fired empty cases to see if they are bulged prior. I'm confident I can shoot them but with no issues and will report back any findings. It was just a little in needing since I know some live by case gauges. The good news is I was...
Most of the brass is once fired from my gun Starline brand. I just think its strange since nothing else changed. I would understand if it were anwider diameter bullet but the oversize conditin is below the bullet. Were the bullet is seated fits perfectly in the guage. I could post photos but its...
I've been reloading .40 for years with 175 gr lead and recently switched to 180gr Missouri bullets lead. I use the same recipe and they function fine- the only change in my setup was I had to adjust the seating die just a hair to get same oal. I just randomly picked up a .40 case gauge and guess...
I have a long barrel bright stainless I bought from a friend about 17 years ago for $950. I guess all my investments are not bad and i, shocked at the value. Someone else told me today wheel guns have become very desirable in the peoples republic of California.
Mine is the most accurate and...
Well it's high time I get one. I've been reloading the same recipe for years but lack of components has me making a few changes. Might be fun too-so let me know what chrony you use and suggest ad or what to avoid. Thank you in advance.
Trading powder
Any particular reason i don't see any powder being traded. I have a bunch of stuff I'm willing to list but all I really need is some W231 / HP 38 powder. Is it ok to trade powder or am I missing something? Thanks
Loads worked perfec, shot clean and accurate. Hit plates and everything else presented to aim point. Next up going to back off a bit and try these 170 SWC. Thx
Yeah I've been googling around and with some exceptions it seems my 4.5 i was using for the 175's will be fine. I'll need to drop it down for the 170's but prefer heavier bullets anyway. I'll post results ASAP.
So is the image taken from Wincheter or Lyman. I still don't see a figure for 180 lead on either. I think I'd be ok with 4.5 but then again this is not a guessing game and will settle for someone's direct experience. Thanks
So I've been loading for many years the same exact thing:
.40
175 gr Proofmark lead SWC
Win 231- 4.3 grains start max 5.8 re: Lymans 48th
I hav eplent of powder, primers and a fresh supply of the following bullets
lead 170 SWC & 180 tcfp gr missouri bullet.
Can't stand not going off...
So I have houge rubber grips for my favorite 229 but thinking about something new for my 226. Looked at houge checkered rosewood and wonder how wooden grips handle since I really have no idea.
I use this 226 just for occasional targets so might try the rubber with finger grooves or go for...
Thanks for the reminder. When I was doing this before I had hair and didn't need these reading glasses. Just glad I bought the stuff when I did and now the kids are growing up I have more time. Just ordered a few conversion kits from Dillon for 9mm and 45 and gonna order some bullets from...
Well it's been over 10 years since I reloaded but since MD is about to strip more rights I've been shooting more and broke out my RL 550 and made up some loads with the same and only recipe I've ever used. Nice soft shooting load for my Sigs 229&226. I made up 20 and shot them tonight and they...
