You can CCW either one. You can get new grips to make either fit differently.
Do you want a decocker, or prefer the safety? Do you want the ability to go cocked and locked?
All your own preferences, but I'd take the SP01, hands down...
The rear sight may need judicious filing to fit properly. If it does, it'll probably take just a little off the bottom.
The paint on the sight will need a little touch-up if you use a punch to drive it in.
They're pretty tight, but they'll stay put.
If money's tight, pick up your favorite 9mm and shoot Production. If you get into it, you'll end up with a Dillon press (which you'll need before an STI or similar pistol) and all sorts of other equipment.
You'll know when it's time to move to Limited (by your scores and your budget). Some of...
Most Colorado agencies are always looking for good recruits. The Denver metro area is actually a pretty good place to work, and there are lots of options from small to large departments.
I don't think you can get cleaner than Clays for .45. Try some jacketed bullets, and the cases look almost unfired. I've found good hardcast lead bullets to be cleaner than the moly, FWIW.
While you'll end up going Dillon eventually if you continue, your Lee will serve you well.
Make sure to get a bullet puller, calipers, and a good scale, too. Get a digital scale if you can afford it - much easier and faster than a balance beam.
Sounds like my local IPSC/USPSA matches. Even in Colorado, we shoot year round.
Let's see... Average local match has at least one Brit and one Canadian. Guys from Britain come for holiday from time to time. Big matches are full of shooters from everywhere.
Great - NASCAR for...
If you shoot thumbs high (like a 1911) and ride the decocker at ALL the P01 will NOT fire.
I sold mine for just that reason. Great gun otherwise, but I'll stick with the traditional CZ's.
Denver PD. We have a choice of a list of pistols, in 9mm or .45.
I carry a nicely customized Colt 1911 (set up to be as close to my STI Limited gun as possible). Backup is a Centennial Airweight.
Certain Officers carry Remington 870 12 ga. Others (who have been blessed by the...
Another vote for Zoogster. If we can't trust someone with a gun in society, we can't trust them at all.
If you're released from prison (or off of parole/probation), you're free.
Don't get me started on the problem of people who aren't in prison, but should be...
