I believe they are welded in place. About the only way I have seen to get it off is cut it.

If you are pretty handy and the rings are like what is on my M44, I bet you could open them up and grind the ends down a little bit to make them fit tighter.

Usually, it seems like a run away on a 1911 is caused by a worn or buggered up disconnector... That's where I would start anyway.

I have had pairs of cheap shooting glasses but if you breathed on the wrong they would scratch... I paid about $100 for my ESS eye...

Yes sir... I am always armed with my 1911 loaded with a mag of Hard Cast lead that are loaded to max charge when I am out in the wood. May not be ideal but I figure it would be sufficient and better than a sharp stick
