Want to cast my own bullets

Hmm.. Seems like sabots is the way to go. What weight bullet would you suggest in 44/45 for my purpose? If you can point to the specific mold - would be great. Is there chance I can use 45 ACP mold? I have 1911 and may share same bullet

Want to cast my own bullets

I got CVA Optima in 50 cal. (1:28 twist rate) I use this rifle in alternative season. Always wanted to cast bullets(I do reload my pistol calibers) and now I got some free lead so no excuse not to do it :) Between 38spl and 50cal I think it makes sense to learn casting on muzzleloader. Ideally...

    Cleaning Your Revolver...

I just started to feel better. I usually only wipe revolver on outside. I switched to 357mag only go avoid rings and started to use coated bullets. Now I don't see any difference if I made 5 or 500 shots. I there is possibility of moisture I will spray with CLP and wipe it off. No more than that...

    Which CZ75 for me?

CZ CUSTOM or CAJUN can make ANY CZ very smooth. Double action, with decocker, blocker, etc. They all can be smoothed out very nice. Pick one you like best.

    Which CZ75 for me?

I put IME there(in my experience). Yes, out of box they don't have great triggers. And yes, they are not 100% every time. Go to CZ forums and you will see same ejection problems and feeding problem. Probably small percent, but I got brand new CZ with those issues. But you can make them GREAT (CZ...

    Which CZ75 for me?

I see lot of people quoting whole post like that. Can you elaborate what exact points is "absurd" in my post?

    Which CZ75 for me?

I agree that not all factory CZs have problems but many do have same problem like my first one did. And toolmarks inside all over. Compare to SIG, Kimber, HK guns. Heck, even my military Mak EG has better machining. It doesn't affect anything. But it does show that it's inexpensive military gun...

    Which CZ75 for me?

IME CZ75 is a great "kit" or "platform" gun. I got my first 75SAO and it was not all that great. Trigger was so so, ejection was "to my face" and there was some stovepipes during break in. This is what you get for the CZ 75 price point. What else in full metal can compete? (from serious brands)...

Primer Brand for next bulk order

I bought 10k cheap Tula primers in SP. In my gun I get about 2/100 misfires. And they don't go off 2nd/3rd time. Complete duds. I use CCI for match loads and use Tula for practice/plinking. It's actually kind of good practice to clear malfunctions :)

    Beretta 92F won't feed 147 gr XTP

Button is more "round" and not pointy. Does it hang on a ramp?

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

I wish Alliance 1680 were available. 1lb would be enough for me to experiment.

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

Obviously, I'm not going to take mix of "any brand" of ammo. I'm thinking take box (20) - pull all and average weight or much better pull and weight one by one to get an idea where it should be and pick number in a middle.

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

Not sure I understood. In both cases you used SST bullets? Or, accuracy was improved when SST+1680 vs OriginalBullet+weighted charge

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

Sam, Yeah, my time worth something. This is more of an experiment/tinkering. This rifle is for hunting, but I'd like to try it on local "hunter rifle" matches. So far "Hornady Ammunition 7.62x39mm 123 Grain SST Steel Case Box of 50" performed best, get's me 1 MOA accuracy. I did full...

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

Makes sense. In that case I can go completely safe way and replace powder as well. Which will mean I don't have to deal with brass and primers. Like I said, I shoot very little of this.

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

Not really. Cheapest is like $.6 per round.

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

If I weight factory load and substitute with better bullet of the same weight - there should be no problem, right? Obviously, I'm going to chrono those loads and compare to factory. I'm not shooting this caliber in volumes and don't really want to stock on components, deal with cleaning...

"Tuning", not "loading", what is your opinion?

I'm reloading for all my pistols. For rifles I just have 1 caliber, and not necessary reloader-friendly :) 7.62x39 I posted awhile ago about reloading for caliber but still undecided if I need to go all the way.. Cheap ammo is plentiful and available everywhere. And it's plenty good for...

    What's your deer hunting rifle

CZ 527 in 7.62x39 + Burris 3-9 scope. Very happy with combo.

It might finally be time for a CZ 527...

In my case lower and upper parts were about 1/16 apart when assembled on a stock. This causes mag to sit low and causes issues with feeding. After I did glass bed and removed extra wood from stock to set lower part deeper - parts mate perfectly and no issue with feeding because mag inserts as...
